1900 Le Théâtre is the only club in Vietnam named in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs three years running — 2022, 2023 and 2024 — placing 40th in 2023 and 44th in 2024. The ranking is not the whole story: the venue occupies the Quang Lac theatre, built on Ta Hien Street at the start of the 20th century, and the old auditorium still shapes how music is played here.

Where is 1900 Le Théâtre? Address and opening hours

The venue is at 8B Ta Hien Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi — in the heart of the Old Quarter. Before 1 July 2025 the address belonged to Hang Buom Ward, Hoan Kiem District; after the administrative reorganisation it falls under Hoan Kiem Ward. Its Google profile lists opening hours of 9 PM to 3 AM nightly, seven days a week, and holds 4.2 stars across more than three thousand three hundred reviews — among the highest counts of any night venue in Hanoi.

Quang Lac theatre, Hanoi Roxy and the 2016 reopening

The building was once the Quang Lac theatre, staging traditional performances from the early 1900s. In the 1990s it became Hanoi Roxy. In 2016 the space reopened as 1900 Le Théâtre — a name that keeps the building's theatrical history rather than erasing it. That is why Hanoians shorten it to "1900" while international visitors remember it as the old theatre turned club.

The auditorium and the DJ podium in the middle

Instead of pushing the DJ booth against one end of the room, 1900 raises the podium in the centre of the auditorium and lets the dance floor wrap around it — much like a theatre stage with an audience on all sides.
