If you have one night in Hanoi, start on Ma May. Within a hundred house numbers on this single street there are three spots of three different kinds: The Diners Club at number 56 for dinner and a lounge seat, Hybra Ultra Lounge at number 32 for a warm room with a small group, and Mid9 Club at number 44 when you want the dance floor — a club sitting inside the busiest bar cluster in the capital, a short walk from Ta Hien. Turn onto Dao Duy Tu and you reach Entropy Cocktail Club at number 15, a small, highly rated room full of old-street character. The whole cluster is within a few minutes on foot, so there is no need to decide in advance — turn up, feel out each room, then choose.
From the Old Quarter down to Hoan Kiem Lake
Keep walking toward the lake and the mood changes: wider streets, fewer venues, bigger rooms. Cosmos Club at 21 Trang Tien is steps from the water, open 9pm to 2am and closed on Mondays.
