The 14 best bars and clubs in District 1, Saigon, grouped by street

Empire Club is at 8 Nguyen Van Trang, on the short stretch between Nguyen Trai and Cong Quynh. Ben Thanh Market is about five minutes away by car and the Nguyen Hue walking street around seven. This is the Nguyen Trai fashion district, so by evening the shops have closed and the road is clear for drop-offs. Doors open at 8pm, earlier than most District 1 clubs, which makes Empire a natural first stop after dinner in the centre.

Inside, resident DJs keep the floor moving with EDM and Vinahouse until 2am. Friday and Saturday tables are reserved first. The carved black arch behind the DJ booth is the backdrop that makes Empire photos easy to recognise. Groups marking a birthday can ask for a name sign when they book.

Ciné Saigon stands at 148 Cong Quynh; tell any taxi or Grab driver it is close to Tu Du Hospital and they will know the way. Cong Quynh connects Nguyen Thi Minh Khai with Tran Hung Dao, so you can arrive from either end. Walking from Bui Vien Street takes roughly ten minutes, and a car from Ben Thanh Market about seven. That puts it on the edge of the backpacker cluster, close enough to walk over after an early evening on Bui Vien.

It is the largest room on this list, with space for 800, and it holds the No.68 spot on the Top 100 Clubs list. The music follows whoever is booked that night. Doors are open 9pm to 3am; dress smart casual at minimum.

LOCO Complex sits at number 11 on Nam Quoc Cang, a short side street by Bui Vien, and shares the address with Neighborhood, so switching clubs mid-night needs no car at all. Many drivers do not catch the street name; say Pham Ngu Lao or Bui Vien instead. The street is narrow and busy at weekends, so ask to be dropped at the top of the street and walk in. From Ben Thanh Market the drive is about five minutes, and the backpacker area is an easy walk.

Floor 1 plays hip-hop and the Heatroom upstairs plays Top 40, EDM and house. It stays open 10pm to 5am, so LOCO often closes out a District 1 night. The complex holds about 300 people and peaks on Friday and Saturday. Tell the booking team which floor you want.

Apocalypse Now Saigon is at 2F Thi Sach in Saigon Ward, at the same end of the street as Bodega Saigon, so the two make an easy pair on foot. Bach Dang pier on the river is a few minutes' walk away, and Dong Khoi is close too. The venue's Facebook page traces it back to 1991, and it has changed address several times along the way. Google Maps says it opens 8pm to 3am every night, Monday included, while Bodega next door opens only three nights a week.

Where Bodega sticks to melodic techno, Apocalypse Now ranges wider: Latin, Afro house, commercial hits and nights for salsa and bachata. It is a theme-party venue, with a monthly Member's Night, neon parties and full-moon nights, so check its Facebook page to pick a busy evening. Tables near the dance floor suit groups, while bar stools suit solo guests who like to chat. A few early-week nights are thin; Friday and Saturday are when it really fills.

PAPI Saigon's address, 123 Le Loi, puts it on the main boulevard between Ben Thanh Market and Nguyen Hue, so drivers need no further directions. Ben Thanh metro station is about five minutes away on foot along Le Loi. D-Rave on Ham Nghi and Weeknd SGN on Huynh Thuc Khang are both close to that station too, which makes the three an obvious set for one evening. PAPI opens at 10pm and closes at 5am.

Expect a standing superclub for about 300 people, with an LED wall across the stage, lasers and an open-format DJ set. International guest DJs play on Fridays and Saturdays. At closing time, big groups find it easier to book a ride from inside than to wave one down on the street.

Neighborhood, or NBH, shares number 11 Nam Quoc Cang with LOCO Complex. Give its name at the door and staff will point you the right way. You can walk over from Bui Vien, and Ben Thanh Market is roughly five minutes by car. Hours are 10pm to 4am, Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays closed. There is parking, and cards are accepted at the venue.

The room is small and low, decorated like an American house party, and the DJs move between hip-hop, R&B, Afro House and Amapiano. If your group wants to sit, book a sofa booth for Friday or Saturday, the two busiest nights.

KHU 13 is at 175/22 Pham Ngu Lao, which means it is inside alley 175 rather than on the main road. Taxis usually stop at the alley entrance and you walk the rest; if you come by car, park out on Pham Ngu Lao. The easiest approach is on foot from Bui Vien, which is right alongside. From Ben Thanh Market the drive takes around seven minutes.

Inside is a red-lit underground room for about 200 people, playing remixes and DJ sets from 9pm to 3am. It gets busy after 10:30pm. Weekends and the Friday 13 series are reserved early, so book a few days ahead if you want a sofa.

Bam Bam occupies 41-43 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, tucked behind Ben Thanh Market, roughly a seven-minute walk from the market itself. The block is mostly offices, so the street is quiet in the evening. From Nguyen Hue, take a car for around five minutes. Volar is further along the same avenue at number 61, so the two pair easily in one night. Bam Bam opens at 7pm, the earliest start on this list, and closes at 2am.

The room is tropical, with thatch, bamboo and a gold mirror ball, and the DJs play hip-hop and current hits. Confetti nights and Ladies Nights are the busiest, and the sofas facing the DJ go quickly on those dates. Groups of up to fifteen can book the VIP area.

Hair Of The Dog Club Saigon is at 194 Bui Vien, mid-way down the walking street and surrounded by other bars and clubs. During weekend pedestrian hours Bui Vien is closed to vehicles, so drivers let you out where the street begins or along Tran Hung Dao; cars should park out on Pham Ngu Lao. KHU 13, LOCO Complex and Neighborhood are all within walking distance, which makes it an easy link in a multi-stop night.

The music is fast, mixing EDM, trap, hip-hop and Vinahouse, played to travellers and locals in front of a wall-sized LED screen. Opening hours are confirmed for your night when you book. On weekends the sofas facing the screen fill first.

Bodega Saigon is at 2 Thi Sach, a small street just off Hai Ba Trung, a few minutes on foot from Dong Khoi and about seven minutes' walk from the Nguyen Hue walking street. There is no large sign. The entrance is a retro convenience store, and the club lies behind it. Watch for the street number, because Thi Sach is an easy street to walk straight past.

Bodega opens on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday only, from 10pm to 4am, with melodic techno and trance as the main sound. It also hosts a Ladies Night. Friday and Saturday tables go quickly, so reserve several days out for those.

Volar is at 61 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, on the same avenue as Bam Bam. Nam Ky Khoi Nghia is a wide one-way road, so cars pull up at the door with no alley to find. You can walk there from Nguyen Hue, or drive from Ben Thanh Market in roughly five minutes. Opening hours vary by night, and the booking team confirms them when you reserve.

The room is known for its domed ceiling of hanging lights and for nights of live performance, with singers and DJs working the centre of the floor while the seating surrounds them. On show nights the sofas near the stage go early.

D-Rave Club SGN is at 21 Ham Nghi, the avenue that runs from Ben Thanh Market down to the Saigon River. Ben Thanh metro station is a few minutes away on foot, with PAPI Saigon and Weeknd SGN nearby. Ham Nghi is lined with offices, so evening traffic is light and drop-offs are simple. At night the front is a long band of red LED light, partly hidden by a large tree, so look for the red glow.

Inside, a 360-degree ring of light circles the dance floor. Expect hip-hop and R&B alongside urban remixes; the weekend line-up is K-Pop Night (Friday), Bass Bomb (Saturday) and D-Rave All Star (Sunday). Hours are 10pm to 3am every night, and Friday draws the biggest crowd of the week.

Weeknd SGN stands at number 66 on Huynh Thuc Khang, a street running between Ham Nghi and Nguyen Hue. The walking street is about three minutes away on foot, Ben Thanh Market is roughly five minutes by car, and Ben Thanh metro station is close. The club opens only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the area gets noticeably busier on those nights, so if you drive, plan to park around Ham Nghi.

It is a hip-hop club for about 300 people, with R&B and a weekly pop-up show, open from 10pm to 5am. Dress smart, and arrive early if you want a good place to stand. Because it opens only three nights, all of them fill up, so book a table if your group wants somewhere to sit.

APLUS Saigon sits apart from the walking clusters, out on the canal side of District 1 at 492 Vo Van Kiet, not far from Nguyen Van Cu Bridge, in what is now Cau Ong Lanh Ward. You will need a car, about five minutes from Ben Thanh Market, but there is covered parking for cars and motorbikes right outside, which helps anyone driving themselves. At night, look for the tall LED screen and lit logo on the front. By its own website it runs 8pm to 4am nightly, though Google Maps has it starting at 9pm.

This is the Saigon outpost of the APLUS name, opened in January 2026 with two nights from Dombresky and Argy and listed at No.59 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs that same year. The sound is electronic: techno on themed nights, house and tech house otherwise, through an L-Acoustics L2 rig in a room for more than 500, under moving wing-shaped LED panels. The floor heats up around 11pm. There are five table tiers, the biggest being the President Sofa for fifteen; dress neatly, as shorts and flip-flops are turned away, and expect your table to be held for half an hour after the booked time.
