Skyline Hanoi is the place to open an evening before you head out. It occupies the top of the Tirant Hotel on Gia Ngu, a short stroll from Hoan Kiem Lake; the venue's own site says No. 36B while map data says No. 38, so just ask for the hotel entrance. Alongside the dining room there is a separate sofa lounge looking out over the city, an open deck with a full 360-degree view and a seating area beside a small rooftop pool.

The mood is hotel lounge: soft background music, no dance floor and guests who settle in for a while. Take a sofa to lean back and talk, or the deck to watch the lake light up. There are no fixed published hours, so ask about times when you reserve; at weekends the lake-facing tables are usually booked ahead. From Gia Ngu, Ta Hien and Ma May are around ten minutes' walk, handy if an Old Quarter club comes next.

At HYBRA Ultra Lounge, 32 Ma May, the seat to fight for is not a VIP sofa but a stool at the long counter through the middle of the room. That counter is the stage. HYBRA On Top is upstairs, above Top.U, in the building at No. 8 O Cho Dua, Dong Da, and it is the pick on this list if you are searching for a rooftop-style lounge in Hanoi. Open 8 PM to 3 AM all week. Sofas around the floor work for groups who mainly want to sit; the stage-front area puts you nearest the acts; birthday tables come with a light-up sign and a message on the LED screen. Dopamine Hanoi in Nam Trung Yen, Cau Giay, is half lounge, half club. Downstairs is the floor, with the DJ booth in the middle of the crowd; upstairs is a mezzanine balcony with a wrought-iron rail. The Hive Lounge is the lobby lounge of InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, on the 62nd floor of the Keangnam tower, Plot E6 Pham Hung, Yen Hoa Ward (Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District until July 2025). The space splits in two: a sunlit sofa area against floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Hanoi skyline, and a section built around a beehive-inspired architectural centrepiece, which gives the lounge its name.

It is open from morning until late. Afternoons are for a seasonal afternoon tea, and as the sun goes down a piano takes over from the background music while sunset light fills the room. If you are coming to watch the city light up, arrive about half an hour before sunset to claim a window seat. Sources disagree on the closing time, so check with the hotel when you reserve. Smart casual dress fits. Do not confuse it with the club lounge for club-level hotel guests on the 72nd floor.
