Top 13 rooftop bars in Hanoi 2026: Old Quarter sky bars, lake views and the French Quarter
Thirteen Hanoi rooftop and sky bars, grouped by what you see from them: Old Quarter tiled roofs, Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake at sunset or the skyline from the French Quarter, plus one high-floor club for after midnight. Each entry gives the floor, the hours, the seating and the best time to go up.
Hanoi's sky bars fall into four clusters. The busiest is inside the Old Quarter, where five hotels have turned their roofs into viewing decks: Cloud Sky Bar on the 9th floor on Hang Da, Lighthouse Sky Bar with its ship and lighthouse on Hang Be, Moonlight Sky Bar on the 11th floor on Ma May, Upper Haven Sky Bar on Luong Ngoc Quyen just off Ta Hien, and Ignite Sky Bar on Duong Thanh. Close to Hoan Kiem Lake are Skyline Hanoi atop the Tirant Hotel in Gia Ngu Street and Terraço Sky Bar on the 8th floor on Hang Dau, looking down on Ngoc Son Temple. East of the lake, in the French Quarter, two upscale hotel rooftops take a more polished line: Pool Terrace & Bar beside Fairmont's infinity pool and The Hudson Rooms at the top of Capella. Out towards West Lake and Ba Dinh you find Summit on the 20th floor of Pan Pacific, Top of Hanoi on the roof of Lotte Center, and Sunset Bar sitting on the water at InterContinental Westlake. The odd one out, HYBRA On Top at 8 O Cho Dua, is a club on an upper floor rather than a terrace for the view.
The list runs from the best known on Google Maps downwards. Opening hours come in three waves. In the afternoon, Summit starts first at 2 PM, Upper Haven in the Old Quarter follows at 3 PM, Sunset Bar opens at 4 PM on weekdays and 3 PM at weekends, and Cloud Sky and Ignite open at 4 PM. At 5 PM Lighthouse, Moonlight, Terraço, Pool Terrace and Top of Hanoi all open together, while Skyline takes dinner bookings between 5 PM and 9:30 PM. Almost all of them wind down around midnight; The Hudson Rooms publishes no hours but rolls out its red carpet at 9:30 PM. The late wave belongs to HYBRA On Top, opening at 8 PM and running until 3 AM. A good plan is to reach a rooftop half an hour before sunset, have dinner up there, and move on to the club if the group still has energy. Every guest on a Nightclub.com.vn booking must be at least 18.

1. Cloud Sky Bar Hanoi — 9th-floor terrace in the Old Quarter, sunset over the tiled roofs
- Address16 Hàng Da, Hà Nội
- Hours16:00 – 00:00
- TypeRooftop Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.9 · 3,581 reviews
Cloud Sky Bar Hanoi occupies the 9th-floor rooftop of the JM Marvel Hotel at 16 Hang Da. By the bar's own count, Train Street is around 400 m on foot and Hoan Kiem Lake roughly 700 m, which makes it an easy first stop if your hotel is in the Old Quarter. The terrace is open to the sky and faces straight down onto the crowded roofs of the old town, which light up beneath you as dusk falls. The look is dark timber, marble tabletops and striped cushions.
The bar's site lists 4 PM to midnight daily, while the hotel's page has it opening a little earlier, at 3:30 PM. The kitchen takes its last order at 9:30 PM and the bar stops serving at 11:30 PM, so come up early if you want to eat. Food is Vietnamese, sent up from VIET Restaurant on the floors below. Seating splits into loungers for couples and long shared tables for groups. There is no fixed DJ programme and the music stays in the background, though the events calendar has featured a New Year countdown with a DJ, fireworks and a drone show seen from the roof. No dress code is published; tidy clothes are fine. As the best known rooftop on this list, it fills up at sunset.
Best for: Couples and Old Quarter guests after a sunset over the roofs and Vietnamese food on the spot
2. Skyline Hanoi — Restaurant-lounge on the Tirant Hotel roof, facing Hoan Kiem Lake
- Address38 Gia Ngư, Phường Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
- TypeRooftop Lounge
- Google Maps★ 4.8 · 1,770 reviews
Skyline Hanoi, also listed as Hanoi Skyline Lounge, takes up the roof of the Tirant Hotel at 38 Gia Ngu. Its own site gives the number as 36B, so the simplest way in is through the Tirant's front door; travel sites place it on the 11th floor. Hoan Kiem Lake is a short walk away, and that is the view: the water, the Old Quarter roofs and, on a clear evening, Long Bien Bridge and the Red River beyond. Open since 2013 and refitted after Covid, it now has an indoor dining room with big windows, a sofa lounge, an outdoor deck that looks all the way round and a small pool on the roof.
Skyline is more restaurant than bar. There are no fixed official hours; the booking form on its site offers lunch from 10 AM and dinner slots between 5 PM and 9:30 PM, so treat it as a dinner address. The menu mixes Western and Vietnamese cooking, from pizza, pasta, salmon and beef tenderloin to Hanoi bun cha and a pho named after the house, with set menus for one or two. Music is low-key and there is no dance floor. Families are welcome, and the hotel hosts private dinners and company parties up here. Tables on the lake side go first, so ask for one when you book.
Best for: Date nights, business dinners and families eating Western or Vietnamese food above the lake
3. Lighthouse Sky Bar — A ship with a striped lighthouse on a Hang Be roof, facing the river
- Address27 Hàng Bè, Phường Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
- Hours17:00 – 00:00
- TypeSky Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.9 · 1,408 reviews
Lighthouse Sky Bar takes over the roof of La Siesta Premium Hang Be, at 27 Hang Be in the Old Quarter core. The hotel spreads it over its 10th and 11th-floor terraces, whereas skybars.vn, the owner's own site, gives only the 10th, so just walk into the hotel lobby and ask for the lift. The whole terrace is shaped like a ship: the bow points down at the street, the stern turns towards the Red River, and a striped lighthouse roughly 6 m tall blinks above it all after dark. It opens 5 PM to midnight every day and holds around 200 people.
Day to day the music is low chill-out and there is no dance floor; live sets only appear for special dates, such as a 20 October ballad night from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, so ask about the calendar when you book. Black sofas are gathered into oval pods like ship's cabins, which suits a group of friends or a small birthday. Pick the bow to watch the Old Quarter light up, or the stern if you prefer the river side. The Rooftop Guide files it under smart casual, and most seats are outdoors with only partial cover.
Best for: Groups and couples who want sofa seats on a rooftop ship over the Old Quarter and the river
4. Moonlight Sky Bar — 11th floor on Ma May, octagonal bar under a mini Long Bien Bridge
- Address94 Mã Mây, Phường Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
- Hours17:00 – 00:00
- TypeSky Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.9 · 1,223 reviews
Moonlight Sky Bar fills the 11th-floor terrace of La Siesta Classic, the hotel at 94 Ma May, in Hoan Kiem Ward (Hang Buom Ward until July 2025). EHG, the group behind the La Siesta hotels, describes it as the fourth of its sky bars and the most elaborate one. From this height the terrace takes in a full circle: Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red River, the tiled roofs of the old town and, further off, Long Bien Bridge. It is open 5 PM to midnight daily, and regulars suggest coming up early near sunset if you want a seat looking over the city.
What people remember is the eight-sided counter in the middle: the bartenders work from the centre, guests sit all the way round, and overhead runs a scale model of Long Bien Bridge you can walk across, lined up with the real one in the distance. Ordinary nights have a lounge feel with the occasional live set; for holidays a DJ comes in, as on Halloween, Saturday 31 October 2026, from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The kitchen does proper mains such as pan-seared salmon and beef tenderloin plus a three-course set, so dinner up here is an option. Come early for a counter seat, or ask for the railing if you want the bridge in your photos.
Best for: Couples, counter-sitters and anyone after a full-circle view from the lake to Long Bien Bridge
5. Upper Haven Sky Bar — Hotel rooftop on Luong Ngoc Quyen, open from 3 PM, indoors and out
- Address21 Lương Ngọc Quyến, Phường Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
- Hours15:00 – 00:00
- TypeRooftop Bar
- Google Maps★ 5 · 1,202 reviews
Upper Haven Sky Bar takes the top floor of the May De Ville Crown, a hotel at No. 21 Luong Ngoc Quyen (the hotel's site says 21A), in Hoan Kiem Ward, which was Hang Buom Ward until July 2025; Ta Hien and Ma May are only steps away. The bar's older website still names the building Hotel De Souriant Premium, so don't be thrown if you come across both. From the terrace you look out over a sea of Old Quarter roofs, and there is both an outdoor deck and a wood-lined indoor room, useful if the weather turns.
The hotel page and Google Maps give 3 PM to midnight daily, one of the earliest starts on this list after Summit, so you can come up while the streets are still bright; the bar's own site shows a different window (3:30 PM to 1 AM), but midnight is the safer bet. The mood is a gentle sky bar: easy music, no regular DJ or band, and light bites served at the bar. It hosts birthdays, weddings and private parties; when booking, choose outdoors or indoors. Come after 6 PM to watch the Old Quarter light up; a travel blog describes the dress code as casual.
Best for: Old Quarter guests who want an afternoon rooftop, couples and small birthday groups
6. Terraço Sky Bar — 8th floor on Hang Dau above Hoan Kiem Lake, DJ Fridays, band Saturdays
- Address33-35 Hàng Dầu, Phường Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
- Hours17:00 – 00:00
- TypeSky Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.7 · 633 reviews
Terraço Sky Bar is the 8th-floor terrace of La Sinfonía del Rey hotel at 33–35 Hang Dau, close to Hoan Kiem Lake. From the railing you look straight down on the water and Ngoc Son Temple, with the Old Quarter roofs stacked up behind. The hotel mixes East and West here: old-style patterned floor tiles, sharp-edged blocks, and an idea of the whole terrace as the crown of a royal banquet. Doors open at 5 PM and close at midnight, seven days a week, public holidays included.
Terraço is one of the few rooftops on this list with a fixed weekly music plan: the house DJ plays on Friday, a live band takes Saturday from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and soft jazz fills the other evenings. Food comes from the hotel's The Rhythms kitchen and includes Hanoi dishes such as cha ca, bun cha and wagyu pho, if you want dinner on the terrace. The Rooftop Guide lists smart casual. The La Sinfonía group runs two more sky bars, called Majesty and Citadel, so say Terraço on Hang Dau when you reserve.
Best for: Couples and friends who want Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and weekend music in one view
7. Summit Rooftop Bar — 20th floor of Pan Pacific, Thanh Nien Road running between two lakes
- Address1 Thanh Niên, Phường Ba Đình, Hà Nội
- Hours14:00 – 00:00
- TypeRooftop Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.5 · 606 reviews
Summit Rooftop Bar, which the hotel shortens to The Summit, sits twenty floors up in Pan Pacific Hanoi, 1 Thanh Nien Road; the ward is now Ba Dinh, and was Truc Bach until mid-2025. Older guides still call it Summit Lounge, a name from the years when the building was the Sofitel Plaza. The position gives a view you will not find elsewhere on this list: West Lake spreads out to one side and Truc Bach Lake to the other, with Thanh Nien Road drawn as a thin line between them and the Red River further out. There are about 90 seats, split between an indoor bar room and an open terrace.
Pan Pacific's own listing gives 2 PM to midnight every day, with last orders at 11:30 PM, the earliest start on this list. The mood is international hotel lounge: quiet music, better for a date or a business meeting than for dancing. Food runs to tapas-style small plates, cold cuts and cheese, and the hotel adds an afternoon tea that changes with the season. Summit states a smart casual dress code: think a shirt with a collar, trousers or a tidy skirt, and closed-toe shoes, with no sportswear. For an outdoor seat at sunset over West Lake, arrive half an hour early; if it rains, the indoor room is the fallback.
Best for: Dates, business meetings and anyone after a West Lake sunset in a calm hotel setting
8. Pool Terrace & Bar Fairmont Hanoi — Infinity pool on the Fairmont roof in the French Quarter, weekend DJs
- Address10 Trần Nguyên Hãn, Hà Nội
- Hours17:00 – 00:00
- TypeRooftop Pool Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.8 · 514 reviews
Pool Terrace & Bar sits on the roof of Fairmont Hanoi, 10 Tran Nguyen Han, east of Hoan Kiem Lake in the French Quarter. The hotel opened in February 2026 as the brand's first in Vietnam. The bar runs alongside an infinity pool that Cathay Pacific puts at 25 metres, looking across to the Old Quarter and the central skyline. It serves from 5 PM to midnight all week and welcomes non-residents, though the pool itself (8 AM to 8 PM) is for hotel guests only.
The terrace offers two ways to sit, sun loungers or outdoor dining tables, and larger groups can ask for a private cabana. Natural tones and lots of greenery make it feel like a beach bar lifted into the sky. The kitchen leans Pan-Asian, mostly street-style plates meant for sharing. Weekend evenings bring a live DJ, but the hotel posts no line-up, so ask when you book. The Rooftop Guide lists smart casual. If it rains, YY, the hotel's candlelit indoor bar, is the fallback.
Best for: Groups and couples after a beach-bar mood up high, with weekend DJs in the French Quarter
9. HYBRA On Top — High-floor club at O Cho Dua, DJs every night until 3 AM

- Address8 Ô Chợ Dừa, Đống Đa, Hà Nội
- Hours20:00 – 03:00
- TypeRooftop Lounge
- Google Maps★ 4.8 · 488 reviews
HYBRA On Top is not a viewing terrace like the rest of this list but a club high up in the building at 8 O Cho Dua, right on the six-way junction of the same name, in O Cho Dua Ward (Dong Da District before July 2025). You go up by lift; the third floor of the same block is TOP.U, a separate venue, so confirm the floor when you arrive. It opens 8 PM to 3 AM all week, starting just as the rooftops move into dinner and carrying on three hours after they close.
Inside, a desert island has been staged in an industrial shell: a bare concrete ceiling with its ducts showing, square LED frames tilted overhead, lasers sweeping the floor and the Island stage hung with fishing nets in front of a wall of plants. DJs play EDM, House, Hip-hop and remixes every night, and weekend nights usually belong to the House of V series, with a guest DJ on the decks and an MC keeping the pace. Small groups take standing tables by the floor, mid-size groups the sofas around it, and anyone who wants to be close to the action asks for the area in front of the stage; birthday groups get a light-up sign and their message shown on the LED screens. Leave the flip-flops at home and bring ID.
Best for: Groups who want to keep dancing after midnight with a DJ on a high floor in Dong Da

- Address11 Lê Phụng Hiểu, Hà Nội
- TypeRooftop Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.8 · 408 reviews
The Hudson Rooms crowns Capella Hanoi, the hotel at 11 Le Phung Hieu, in the French Quarter east of Hoan Kiem Lake; Tatler notes that it looks out towards the Old Quarter. Bill Bensley designed the hotel around the idea of an early 20th-century opera house, and the rooftop room channels 1920s New York with old bronze mirrors, marble and a golden glow. In 2026 it placed No. 46 on Asia's 50 Best Bars, and Tatler Best of Vietnam 2026 picked it for Best Service.
By day it works as an oyster bar with seafood towers, fresh oysters and caviar; in the evening it becomes a mixology bar whose seasonal list is named after famous American railway lines. A red carpet is rolled out every night at 9:30 PM, so arrive before then if you want to see it. Behind the room hides Track 61, a secret bar whose door you find by solving a puzzle. None of the sources we checked give official opening hours, so the Nightclub.com.vn team confirms them when you send a request. Dress smartly.
Best for: Fans of award-listed bars, special-occasion dates and business drinks in the French Quarter
11. Top of Hanoi — Roof of the 267 m Lotte Center, 360-degree view, evening live music
- Address54 Liễu Giai, Hà Nội
- Hours17:00 – 00:00
- TypeSky Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.2 · 385 reviews
Top of Hanoi is a sky bar open to the elements on the roof of Lotte Center, the 267 m tower that houses Lotte Hotel Hanoi at 54 Lieu Giai in Ba Dinh, and that height is why so many write-ups call it the highest rooftop in the capital. Plenty of listings say floor 65, but that is the observation deck; Lotte's own floor plan puts the bar at 67F. Take the hotel lift to 65, then switch lifts or climb the last stretch on foot. Google Maps has no pin for the bar itself, so navigate to Lotte Hotel Hanoi and make sure you don't end up at Lotte Mall West Lake in Tay Ho. It opens 5 PM to midnight daily, with around 124 seats.
Glass panels ring the terrace, so the view goes all the way round, with West Lake and the western half of the city the clearest part of it. The way up is a corridor of coloured neon; outside there are high tables set for pairs, round tables for bigger groups, a sofa spelling out LOVE and a lit tiered stage that everyone photographs. Lotte bills it as a live-music sky bar, and a January 2025 write-up listed acoustic sets from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM on five nights a week, all except Monday and Thursday; the schedule may have changed, so check when booking. An open-air kitchen handles dinner. Every seat is outdoors, the wind is strong and opening depends on the weather; guides suggest smart casual, with no flip-flops or vests.
Best for: Anyone who wants the city's highest view, panoramic photos and acoustic music after dark
12. Sunset Bar InterContinental Hanoi — A bar out on West Lake via a torchlit bridge, from 3 PM at weekends
- Address5 Từ Hoa, Phường Tây Hồ, Hà Nội
- Hours16:00 – 00:00
- TypeLakeside Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.5 · 383 reviews
Sunset Bar is not on top of any tower. It belongs to InterContinental Hanoi Westlake at 5 Tu Hoa, Tay Ho Ward, and sits out on West Lake itself, among the hotel's buildings on the water, reached along a torchlit bridge. Being down at water level, the view is all sky and lake rather than rooftops: as the sun drops behind the far shore, the sky runs from gold to deep red and the colour spills across the surface. It opens 4 PM to midnight on weekdays and an hour earlier, at 3 PM, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The mood is easy-going: soft music, a timber deck with daybeds and sofas, and a crowd that drifts in after office hours or after cycling a lap of the lake. The hotel lists no DJ or band here. The à la carte menu runs 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, from salt-and-chilli squid and Hanoi fried spring rolls to wagyu burgers, and afternoon tea is served 4 PM to 6 PM. The hotel also stages proposals here with a dedicated menu and a photographer. The lake breeze gets cold on autumn and winter nights, so bring a jacket.
Best for: Couples and anyone after a West Lake sunset at water level, proposals or anniversaries
13. Ignite Sky Bar — Peridot Grand rooftop on Duong Thanh, infinity pool, DJs at night
- Address33 Đường Thành, Hà Nội
- Hours16:00 – 00:00
- TypeRooftop Bar
- Google Maps★ 4.8 · 265 reviews
Ignite Sky Bar crowns the Peridot Grand hotel at 33 Duong Thanh, inside the Old Quarter; The Rooftop Guide places it on the 9th floor. The hotel calls it its newest and largest rooftop, and an infinity pool and the Olivine restaurant share the same roof. The bar opens 4 PM to midnight daily with last orders at 11:30 PM, and the hotel treats 5 PM to 7 PM as sunset hour. The view runs right round, over Old Quarter roofs and the skyline beyond.
For a five-star hotel rooftop it runs lively: evenings usually bring a DJ or a band, sometimes a live saxophone. The covered outdoor bar has plush birdcage-style seats, and the kitchen sends out sharing plates such as beef nachos, shrimp tempura and duck gyoza, plus a few Japanese-leaning dishes like sushi tacos. On big fireworks nights over Hoan Kiem Lake the hotel runs its own programme, so book early. The Rooftop Guide lists smart casual; the pool is a hotel facility, so ask first if you hope to swim.
Best for: Younger groups who want a DJ or live music and an Old Quarter sunset next to a pool
How to choose
Which rooftop for which view
Each cluster frames a different Hanoi. For individual Old Quarter roofs, stay low: Cloud Sky on the 9th floor, or Ignite, where the hotel's infinity pool shares the terrace; Upper Haven on Luong Ngoc Quyen sits in the very middle of the quarter, with a terrace and an indoor room. To get Hoan Kiem Lake into the picture, Terraço looks straight down at Ngoc Son Temple, Skyline puts dinner beside the lake, and Moonlight sweeps all the way round from the lake to Long Bien Bridge. Lighthouse gives half its ship to the Red River side. West Lake can be seen three ways: from the 20th floor at Summit, from the top of Lotte at Top of Hanoi, or right at the water's edge at Sunset Bar. Fairmont and The Hudson Rooms suit those who care more about a polished hotel mood than a sweeping panorama. HYBRA On Top is for dancing, not sightseeing.
Timing your evening
To catch the sunset, be there about half an hour before the sun goes down, allowing for a wait at the lifts. Summit opens at 2 PM for a long afternoon; Upper Haven opens at 3 PM and closes at midnight; Sunset Bar opens at 3 PM at weekends and 4 PM on weekdays; Cloud Sky and Ignite open at 4 PM. Five places open on the dot of 5 PM, namely Lighthouse, Moonlight, Terraço, Pool Terrace and Top of Hanoi, so arrive at opening for a seat at the railing or the glass. Most close at midnight, and Cloud Sky, Summit and Ignite all take last orders at 11:30 PM. If you want to carry on, take a car to O Cho Dua, where HYBRA On Top opens at 8 PM and runs until 3 AM.
Weather, wind and a plan B
Hanoi rooftops live and die by the weather. Fog or heavy rain wipes out the view, so check the forecast before you set off. Top of Hanoi is entirely outdoors and may pause when conditions turn bad; if that happens, the Lotte tower also has an observation deck on floor 65 and two indoor venues on floors 63 and 64. Terraço may shift its shows in poor weather, and Lighthouse is only partly covered. For real shelter, Summit has an indoor bar room, Skyline a glass-walled dining room, Upper Haven a wood-lined indoor room, Ignite a covered bar area, and at Fairmont you can retreat to YY indoors. It is windy up high and out on West Lake at any time of year, so bring a light jacket if you plan to stay late.
Dress code, age and booking
Summit publishes a smart casual rule; The Rooftop Guide puts Lighthouse, Ignite, Terraço and Pool Terrace in the same bracket, and guides give similar advice for Top of Hanoi, adding no flip-flops. The Hudson Rooms posts no rule but rolls out a red carpet every evening, so dress up a little. Cloud Sky, Skyline, Moonlight, Upper Haven and Sunset Bar post no rules (a travel blog calls Upper Haven casual), so neat everyday clothes are fine, and HYBRA On Top only asks you to skip the flip-flops. Skyline welcomes families, but everyone in a group booked through Nightclub.com.vn must be 18 or older. Holding a table costs nothing: send a request on Nightclub.com.vn and our team calls the venue, then confirms with you before your arrival. Say how many of you there are, when you will arrive, and whether you would rather sit out on the terrace or inside, by the railing or facing the lake.

Terraço has the clearest schedule: a DJ on Friday and a live band on Saturday from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Fairmont's Pool Terrace brings in DJs at weekends, Ignite usually has a DJ or band in the evening, and Top of Hanoi has hosted acoustic sets, though that schedule may have changed. Lighthouse and Moonlight add music only for special dates. For real dancing, HYBRA On Top has DJs every night.
