Buzz Pub is at 335 Van Cao Street in Hai An (Dang Lam ward before July 2025, according to 9Life) and, per Google Maps, opens 3 PM to 2 AM every day, so it works for a late afternoon or after dinner. Think European-style pub rather than club: one travel site describes a long bar under soft yellow light, air conditioning, background music low enough to talk over and screens showing big football matches, and calls it a regular meeting point for Hai Phong's foreign residents.

Weekends are the liveliest time: young singers and musicians take the stage, and a 2026 guest wrote that the live music had the whole room moving. Sit at the bar to watch the bartenders or take a table to chat; it gets cramped at peak times, and one guest waited a long while to be served. It suits friends who want live music, expats and football fans. For something calmer, come on a weekday afternoon; on Friday, Saturday or a big match night, book and arrive early.

For a full-scale night out, start with New MDM Club on the Le Hong Phong side of Gia Vien Ward. Three stacked floors of around 1,000 square metres each add up to more than 100 tables, so a couple and a party of several dozen can both find space on the same night. Since opening in September 2019 the club has stuck with EDM, Vinahouse, Hip-hop and remixes from its resident DJs, adding visiting DJs and singers from both ends of the country at weekends.

It runs 9 PM to 2 AM and is full from about 10:30 PM. There are four seating tiers: Bar Counter, Standing by the floor, VIP Sofa overlooking the room, and VIP Private upstairs with separate access. Parking is right on the frontage, with staff to guide drivers.

Two eye-shaped LED screens frame the DJ booth, which sits up on the counter, and a huge moon sphere hangs under a red vaulted ceiling with geometric patterns, next to a dotted LED globe. The slogan is GAZING. FEELING. WONDERING. It is close to the opera house and the central gardens and opens 8:30 PM to 1:30 AM every night.

Ordinary nights play House, Hip-hop, R&B and Electro at a level where you can still talk. Weekends turn up the energy with guest DJs, crew take-overs and the venue's eyetune nights of techno, trance and indie. Tuesday is aimed at groups of male friends and Wednesday at groups of women. Dress is smart casual.

Roza Bar sits on the fourth-floor roof of Roza Palace at 255 Mot Thang Tu Street (1/4 Street) in Cat Ba town, which now belongs to the Cat Hai special zone. It is an open-air bar that opens mid-afternoon and looks out over the town, and the venue's own photos present it as a good spot for watching fireworks at night. Roza's restaurant in the same building welcomes non-residents, so a group can have dinner and then head straight up to the roof.

The weekly rhythm is easy to remember: Ladies' Night on Monday, DJs on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, acoustic music on Sunday and a barbecue early on Saturday evening. Staff wear white shirts, braces and leather aprons. It belongs to Sixteen Group, the company behind the Sixteen Saloon chain, which also operates in Bac Ninh, Mong Cai and Ha Long. Downstairs is lively; upstairs is quieter for conversation.

LAB. Cocktail Bar is at 112 Quan Nam Street in Le Chan, away from the tourist areas, in a busy residential part of southwest Hai Phong close to several universities. Most of the people at the tables are from Hai Phong itself. The name points to a laboratory, and the menu is treated with the same careful, experimental approach. This is a place for sitting and talking in a small group, not for a dance floor.

The room is small, so Friday and Saturday evenings fill up. Exact opening hours are not listed in our system, so ask the team when you reserve. Booking ahead is the reliable way to get a seat at the weekend.

New HAVEN Club sits on Hoang Van Thu Street, also in Hong Bang, in the old administrative heart of the city. This is a club rather than a seated bar. LED panels across the ceiling and walls show digital art, the DJ booth takes the shape of a speaker horn, and a gold arch of light marks the entrance. The anchor logo and the slogan NIGHT FREQUENCY are a nod to Hai Phong's life as a port.

The sound is Vinahouse and EDM. The China Town night, Ai Hong Nhan, falls on Wednesday; Dam Dang on Thursday is aimed at the women in your group; and at weekends the club books visiting DJs and singers. Opening hours are given as 9 PM to 2 AM, but some sources show an earlier opening, so confirm first.

H Plus is at 18A Le Hong Phong in Dong Hai Ward, on the eastern side of the city along the route from the centre towards Cat Bi airport. Its logo is a gold crest with an H set into chevrons, and the stage is literally that crest, built from LED frames. A blue LED vault covers the ceiling, moving heads sweep the room and the slogan reads Play Hard – Party Harder. It is open 9 PM to 2 AM every night.

DJs, MCs and dancers keep the stage busy, with confetti and CO2 bursts at the peaks and guest artists on many nights. Tables come in three tiers, Standard, VIP and SVIP, and birthdays get their own set-up with a greeting on the LED screen. Do not mix it up with New MDM Club, which is on the same road.

MeetZ is at 6 Vong Ho Sen Street, the road that circles Ho Sen lake in Le Chan. It opens at 8:30 PM and, with Rose Club, is one of the two latest venues in this guide, closing at 3 AM. LED screens cover the walls and ceiling, and a giant eye on the screen behind the DJ booth looks down on the floor. At the door, red paper fans cover a whole wall beside a Welcome board, and a red dragon painting hangs inside.

The week has a clear shape: Vinahouse Night with a dress theme on Thursday, Ladies Night on Friday, Z-CODE on Saturday and Karaoke Night on Sunday. Z-CODE is a numbered series of guest DJ nights that had reached edition 27 by September 2026, which is why Saturday tables go early.

Up & Above takes the 32nd floor, the very top of the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel at 12 Tran Phu Street in Gia Vien Ward. The hotel opened on 1 March 2025, which makes this one of the newest high-rise bars in the city, with a sweep over the harbour and the rooftops of the old centre. Hai Phong railway station is only about 300 metres away, and Cat Bi airport is roughly a 15-minute taxi ride.

The hotel pitches it as a lively meeting point: a DJ playing live, house-crafted mixology and Asian-style tapas, aimed at client meetings and date nights alike. Opening hours have not been published, so check before heading up, and if you want a seat facing the port as the lights come on, book in the afternoon. For somewhere calmer, Junction Bar on the hotel's ground level is a coffee house by day that becomes a bar after dark.

Endless Summer occupies the 22nd-floor roof of the Wink hotel at 135 Dien Bien Phu Street, Hong Bang Ward. The hotel opened in July 2025 and now trades as Wink Hai Phong Centre, Unscripted by Hyatt. Up top is a pool kept heated through the winter, ringed by lounge seating that looks out over the whole downtown skyline. When Tuoi Tre newspaper wrote up the hotel, its tip was to come up here for the sunset and then stay on by the pool.

This is a place to linger rather than to dance: the hotel's own launch material talks about all-day chill, and the best window is late afternoon sliding into evening. Opening hours and the rules for non-residents have not been published, so call before you go. It sits in the same central Hong Bang area as Eyeconic and New HAVEN, which makes it easy to move on once it is properly dark.
