The 6 best hip hop clubs (and bars) in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)

Drinking & Healing occupies the second storey of an old French building, No. 25 Ho Tung Mau, on the same street as Bitexco Tower; you climb a staircase from the pavement, and the sign is small, so ask staff if you cannot find the way up. Its own site lists 6:30pm to 2am, Google Maps says from 5pm, and The World's 50 Best mentions only Thursday to Sunday, so check before going early in the week. In 2024 it placed at No.99 when Asia's 50 Best Bars released its 51–100 list, and since 2026 it has traded as Drinking Healing by Gemination.

This is hip-hop for sitting, not dancing: bare brick, amber light, a room cut off from the traffic noise below, and a team who say they love old-school hip-hop, which plays all night. Behind the counter the staff are called “healers”: describe your mood and they will build a glass around it instead of you picking from the menu. Seats are split between the counter, good for solo guests who like to chat, and lounge tables for small groups; weekend evenings fill up, so book early and say which you prefer.

The Arth is one flight up at 222 Nguyen Cong Tru in Ben Thanh Ward; the staircase is dim and narrow, so take it slowly. The room mixes Art Deco with classic European touches, with a skylight, an ornate bar and warm low lighting, and Vietnam Nightlife puts capacity at around 150. It opens 5pm to 2am daily and stops taking orders roughly an hour before closing, so for a late visit get there before 1am.

The night runs in two moods: easygoing early on, good for conversation, then steadily more hip-hop as it gets late. On Google Maps it now goes by “Arth – Hiphop bar”, and late on a Friday the room is packed and the volume high enough that talking gets hard. The playlist sometimes mixes Vietnamese, Western and Korean tracks, which may not suit anyone after pure rap. Sofas suit groups and birthdays, while counter seats let you watch the bartenders; dress smart and avoid anything too casual.

At LOCO Complex hip-hop is not a time slot but an entire floor. Floor 1 runs on heavy beats from 10pm right through to 5am, with a young crowd, a street feel and decor in the brand's bold retro-modern colours. If someone in your group needs a break from rap, the Heatroom on Floor 2 plays Top 40, EDM and house in a smaller, darker room. That split lets a mixed group stay at a single address all night so nobody has to give up their music.

LOCO holds about 300 people, and Friday and Saturday are its peak nights. Floor 1 standing tables take four to six people; ask for Floor 1 when you book so you are not seated upstairs by mistake. The dress code is relaxed. The weekly programme can change, so check it with the booking team before you go.

Neighborhood uses hip-hop and R&B as its base and then travels: Amapiano, Afro House, UK Garage, Latin House, Jersey Club and Baile Funk can all turn up in one night. If you grew up on American hip-hop, the move into Afro rhythms feels like a natural next step rather than a change of club. The room is set up like an American house party, with a low ceiling and a compact floor, so from the middle you can see almost everyone.

It shares 11 Nam Quoc Cang with LOCO Complex but is a separate club, open Tuesday to Sunday from 10pm to 4am, with Monday off. Friday and Saturday draw the biggest crowds, and the sofa booths for four to six are reserved early. Larger groups and birthday parties can ask for the VIP room.

Bam Bam is the first of the four clubs to open, at 7pm, and it wraps up at 2am. Every night there is a live DJ, and the selection is mostly hip-hop plus whatever is trending. The booth is level with the floor rather than raised on a stage, so the DJ and the dancers are face to face. The room fills after 10pm, and the confetti nights, when paper covers every inch of the floor, are when the energy peaks.

Find it behind Ben Thanh Market at 41-43 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, in a tropical setting of thatch, bamboo and a glowing grid wall. Weekends and Ladies Nights are booked out first, so reserve a sofa facing the DJ in advance. Groups of up to fifteen can take the VIP area, which works well for birthdays.

Weeknd SGN is the only club in this group that calls itself a hip-hop club outright. Hip-hop fills most of every set, R&B fills the gaps, and each week brings a pop-up show with a new theme. Doors open at 10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only and close at 5am, which means all three nights are equally packed rather than one big night and two quiet ones. The club opened in 2025.

Its address, 66 Huynh Thuc Khang, is roughly three minutes' walk from Nguyen Hue, and the room holds about 300 people in a raw, grunge-style space. At peak time an MC works the crowd from a raised platform while light sticks wave and confetti falls. Dress smart and come early to claim a good position. Tables range from sofas for four up to VIP for ten.
