The 41 best bars in District 1, Saigon for 2026: rooftops, speakeasies, hidden bars

The bars at the heart of District 1, from a long bar on the second floor of an old Dong Du building, a 40th-floor sky bar at the Hilton, two 26th-floor terraces and the hotel rooftops along Dong Khoi to a poolside rooftop, a riverside lounge on Bach Dang wharf, speakeasies, a jazz house, a late-night izakaya and a sports bar on Bui Vien, ranked by Google Maps review count. Each entry gives the street cluster, the hours, the kind of night and where to sit.

Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 41 venues · ranked by number of Google Maps reviews

Bars in District 1 come in several shapes. Twelve are up high: Song Bar on the 40th floor of the Hilton is the tallest; Chill Skybar and Kén Skybar both sit on 26th floors, one looking over the streets in every direction, the other facing the Saigon River; Hai Bar on the Sheraton's 23rd floor and Rooftop Grand Lounge on the 20th share Dong Khoi Street; Zion is a 14th-floor sky lounge with a full kitchen on Ham Nghi; Twilight is on the 12th floor of La Siesta near Ben Thanh Market; Banana Mama is a 10th-floor terrace near Bui Vien, and SolLuna, at the same height in Icon Saigon, has its bar beside a pool; and three old hotels, the Majestic, the Caravelle and the Rex, keep a band playing on their roofs. The second group is the speakeasies, or hidden bars: Stir upstairs in an apartment block on Le Thanh Ton, The Enigma Mansion in an old villa by the river, Snuffbox inside a block on Ton That Dam, Madam Kew above the Quince restaurant on Ky Con, Angels' Share up in alley 178 Pasteur and Maiden behind a red door in a Tan Dinh alley. A third group is small bars, many upstairs with discreet doors: Layla and its long counter on Dong Du, Firkin on Mac Thi Buoi, Drinking & Healing on Ho Tung Mau, A Good Bar on Ly Tu Trong, The Arth on Nguyen Cong Tru, The Mechanic on Le Lai and Jackalope on Pho Duc Chinh, plus House of Merlin deep in an alley off Pasteur. The rest are Astrix, a lounge club inside an office tower; Fetti, a small social club; District K, a gastrobar with a games zone; FEN, a late izakaya; Malt, a neighbourhood pub; Station, a sports bar on Bui Vien; Thi Bar, a live-music room on De Tham; The Gangs Central, Sạc Station and B40, loud and cheerful yards; and restaurants that run late: The Wann, Palmora Saigon, Yunka with Nikkei food and a DJ upstairs, Bebop with live jazz, and ROS Yacht Club on Bach Dang wharf.

The geography breaks into five clusters. Saigon Ward towards the river is now the busiest: the Dong Khoi – Nguyen Hue grid holds Layla and Yunka on the Dong Du corner, The Gangs Central on the walking street, Malt and Firkin a few doors apart on Mac Thi Buoi, A Good Bar and Bebop across from each other on Ly Tu Trong, House of Merlin and Angels' Share in the same Pasteur alley, Drinking & Healing on Ho Tung Mau and SolLuna on Hai Ba Trung, along with the hotel bars M Bar, Rooftop Grand Lounge, Hai Bar, the Rex and Saigon Saigon on Lam Son Square; along Ton Duc Thang are ROS on Bach Dang wharf, Kén Skybar and The Enigma Mansion; Snuffbox is on Ton That Dam, Song Bar on Me Linh Square and The Wann on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia. Ham Nghi and the Nguyen Thai Binh blocks have Zion, Fetti, The Arth further along Nguyen Cong Tru, plus Jackalope on Pho Duc Chinh and Madam Kew on Ky Con; near Ben Thanh Market you have District K on Thu Khoa Huan, Stir on Le Thanh Ton, FEN and Twilight on Ly Tu Trong, Astrix on Bui Thi Xuan and Chill Skybar on Le Lai; around Pham Ngu Lao, the start of Tran Hung Dao lines up Sạc Station, B40 and Palmora on neighbouring Nguyen Cu Trinh, with Banana Mama on Cong Quynh, Station Sport Bar on Bui Vien itself, Thi Bar on De Tham and The Mechanic facing 23/9 Park. The fifth cluster is off on its own to the north: Maiden in an alley by Tan Dinh Market. Opening times run from 6am (Grand Lounge serves all day) to 9pm, closing times from 11pm to 4am, and Station Sport Bar is listed as open around the clock. Venues are ordered by Google Maps review count, highest first; pick the kind of night, then use the clusters to pair two stops.

1. Layla Eatery & Bar — Bar-restaurant at 63 Dong Du, about 240 seats and a pool table

  • AddressTầng 2, 63 Đông Du, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 01:00
  • TypeBar & Eatery
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 6,481 reviews

Top of the District 1 list by review count is Layla Eatery & Bar, upstairs in a French-period building at 63 Dong Du in Saigon Ward, exactly where Dong Du meets Dong Khoi. The Opera House and the Rex hotel are a short walk away. Hours: 4pm to 1am Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday it starts at 1pm.

If you like watching drinks being made, take a stool along the roughly 11-metre counter, where several bartenders work at once; groups head for the sofas at the back beside the pool table, or the outdoor area kept for smokers. A few high tables by the windows look straight down on Dong Khoi. The kitchen sends out tapas, flatbreads, sharing plates and desserts. There is no DJ and no table tier system; casual clothes are fine, but book for weekend evenings.

Best for: Solo guests and pairs who want a bar stool and a show; groups after sofas and pool near Dong Khoi

2. Chill Skybar — 26th-floor terrace on Le Lai with views on all sides, DJs to 1:30am

  • AddressTầng 26, AB Tower, 76A Lê Lai, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:30 – 01:30
  • TypeSky Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 6,032 reviews

Chill Skybar sits on top of the AB Tower at 76A Le Lai in Ben Thanh Ward, right beside the New World hotel, with Ben Thanh Market about a kilometre further on. The lift takes you straight to the 26th floor, where a deck of around 900 square metres opens in every direction with no taller building in the way. It runs from 5:30pm to 1:30am. For a sit-down meal first, Chill Dining, the restaurant one floor up under the same owners, grills beef and seafood.

Among District 1 bars it matches Kén's height, but the night takes a different shape: early on it is a lounge for watching the streets light up, and later the DJ plays Top 40, hip-hop and R&B while dancers take the floor. Couples and solo guests usually walk in and sit at the bar; standing tables and sofas are worth booking, and groups taking a table package get priority. The door checks outfits closely, so leave shorts, flip-flops and tank tops at the hotel.

Best for: Groups who want District 1 at night from floor 26, then a DJ and a lively crowd

3. Banana Mama Rooftop Bar & Kitchen — 10th-floor rooftop on Cong Quynh near Bui Vien, closed Mondays

  • AddressTầng 10, 102 Cống Quỳnh, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 02:00 · Fri, Sat until 03:00 · closed Mon
  • TypeRooftop Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 2,413 reviews

Banana Mama occupies the 10th floor of 102 Cong Quynh, Ben Thanh Ward, part of the Bui Vien pocket along with Sạc Station, B40 and Palmora; the walking street is a few minutes away on foot. The building goes by two names, the Mayfair hotel or WMC Tower, so give your driver the street number. It opens at 4pm and closes at 2am, or 3am on Friday and Saturday, with Monday off. Ten floors up, you look at nearby rooftops and the central towers close by rather than a distant panorama.

The look is a beach club planted on a roof: timber decking, cushions in every colour, greenery all around. Sunset is the busy hour, resident DJs play from Thursday to Sunday, and the odd evening becomes a sunset party with confetti. The kitchen turns out smash burgers with vegetarian options, handy for a light bite before you head down to the street. After 7pm the door turns away beachwear and flip-flops. Weeknights you can just turn up; at weekends hold a table.

Best for: Groups near Bui Vien who want a rooftop sunset and a bite before the street

4. The Gangs Central — Nguyen Hue and Ho Tung Mau corner: open-air yard for 300, nightly DJs

  • Address87 Nguyễn Huệ, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 00:00
  • TypeBeer Garden
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 2,104 reviews

The Gangs Central puts its tables directly on the Nguyen Hue walking street: the front is number 87 Nguyen Hue, the back 98 Ho Tung Mau, Saigon Ward. It is an open-air yard for around 300 guests, open 5pm to midnight daily and busiest from about 8pm to 11pm. Note that 75-77 on the same street is The Gangs Central Rooftop, another venue in the chain.

Tables are laid out for sharing: grills and BBQ lead the menu, alongside sashimi made with ingredients brought in daily, salads and group sets. After dark a DJ or performer takes the stage with EDM, house and fresh Top 40 remixes, some nights given to rap or acoustic sets and holidays to their own programmes, such as Halloween or a New Year countdown. It takes parties of up to a hundred, but it is loud and crowded, so not the spot for a quiet date. Smart casual; book a few days ahead for weekends.

Best for: Big groups near Nguyen Hue after an outdoor grill dinner and a party; office nights, birthdays

5. Thi Bar Saigon — Live-music room off Bui Vien, LGBTQ+ friendly, closed Tuesdays

  • Address224 Đề Thám, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours19:00 – 02:00 (closed thứ Ba)
  • TypeLive Music Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 1,215 reviews

A few steps from the Bui Vien walking street, Thi Bar Saigon sits at 224 De Tham (Ben Thanh Ward), one of the quarter's long-runners if you go by the 2010 date on its Instagram. Doors open at 7pm and close at 2am from Thursday to Sunday, 1:30am on Monday and Wednesday; Tuesday is the day off. Only paid street parking is nearby, so leave the bike at a lot on De Tham and walk.

Around 10pm the band starts on easy sing-along English songs; by midnight on Friday and Saturday the room is packed and nearly everyone is standing. Everyone is welcome, and the venue is marked as a safe space for trans guests; under a shared calendar with The Werq Room, some nights combine the band with a drag show, with themes changing month to month. It is an enclosed room, so expect smoke and high volume. To be near the stage, arrive before the band starts.

Best for: Friends and travellers after a live band and an open-minded crowd, with drag nights near Bui Vien

6. ROS Yacht Club — Bach Dang wharf restaurant and lounge, waterside tables, weekend DJs

  • Address10B Tôn Đức Thắng, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours11:00 – 23:30
  • TypeDining & River Lounge
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 1,214 reviews

ROS Yacht Club is at 10B Ton Duc Thang (Saigon Ward), part of the Bach Dang wharf beside the river waterbus stop, and the only place on this District 1 list with tables right at the water's edge. It opens 11am to 11:30pm daily, the kitchen takes final orders at 10:30pm, and afternoon tea fills the middle of the day. It opened in 2019 on a stretch of waterfront that in the 1950s was known for Saigon's restaurants and cafés.

Pick the indoor room, the leafy garden or a railing table looking across to Ba Son Bridge and Landmark 81. Most of the time the music just accompanies dinner; on Friday and Saturday a DJ plays, and holidays bring special nights with guest DJs. The kitchen does contemporary Asian food for sharing, and set menus need a day or two's notice. It hosts events for up to 200 people and even has a boat for small parties. Dress neatly.

Best for: Riverside client dinners, birthdays and company parties; weekend DJ nights by the water

7. House of Merlin — Steampunk explorer's workshop off Pasteur, live jazz some nights

  • Address178/1 Pasteur, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 01:00
  • TypeSteampunk Bar & Eatery
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 921 reviews

For a room that looks like nothing else in District 1, head into alley 178/1 Pasteur in Saigon Ward and find House of Merlin. It bills itself as Saigon's first steampunk bar: nixie-tube clocks, a metal astronomical globe of roughly 200 kg and fittings that took nine months to make by hand, telling the tale of an 18th-century explorer. It opens 6pm to 1am daily, deep in the alley off Pasteur Street.

The music stays low and conversation-friendly; some nights a jazz band plays live, and every so often guest bartenders come over from abroad. Each month one glass is named the drink of the month. The sourdough pizza oven works until midnight, with mushroom prosciutto pizza and crispy fried squid among the most-ordered plates. Expect to spend more per head than at a casual bar, in return for a slow evening in the most photogenic room on Pasteur.

Best for: Couples, photo lovers and small groups who want pizza and a long, quiet evening in a striking room

8. Firkin Bar — First-floor bar at 20 Mac Thi Buoi, drinks mixed to each guest's taste

  • AddressLầu 1, 20 Mạc Thị Bưởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 01:00
  • TypeMixology Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.7 · 818 reviews

You will find Firkin Bar one floor up at 20 Mac Thi Buoi, Saigon Ward, on the short street linking Dong Khoi with Nguyen Hue, in the same row as Malt. Outside there is only a small letter “f” and a steep staircase, so it works as a hidden bar even though it does not call itself a speakeasy. It has run since late 2017, from 6pm to 1am with no day off.

Dim lights, dark timber, oversized leather sofas and a little balcony over the street, with a nod to the tiny bars of Tokyo. Take the counter and let the bartender ask about your taste before mixing something personal, or choose from a cabinet of labels gathered from producers around the world, tasting flights included. Regulars are office workers after their shift and couples on dates; counter seats go early on Friday and Saturday. Smart, relaxed clothes suit the room.

Best for: Solo guests and pairs who want a counter seat and a chat with the bartender in a dark, warm room

9. Malt Saigon — Neighbourhood pub at 46-48 Mac Thi Buoi with a non-smoking room

  • Address46-48 Mạc Thị Bưởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours15:00 – 00:00
  • TypeTaproom
  • Google Maps★ 4.5 · 815 reviews

On the 46-48 block of Mac Thi Buoi in Saigon Ward, Malt Saigon is less than a minute's walk from the Nguyen Hue walking street and shares the row with Firkin. Open since 2015, it runs from 3pm to midnight all week, one of the earlier starts around Dong Khoi. The indoor room is non-smoking, with a few seats out front for anyone who wants the street.

There is no DJ and no dance floor: Malt is a neighbourhood hangout with over twenty taps of small-batch drinks made by Vietnamese producers and a long shuffleboard table for friendly matches. The Western and Asian menu covers poutine, burgers, wings in several sauces and a Reuben sandwich, with a separate vegetarian and vegan section. In 2026 it appeared on Restaurant Guru's list of 100 pubs and bars worth visiting in Vietnam. Everyday clothes are fine.

Best for: Friends and solo travellers who want a quiet corner; vegetarians; anyone avoiding cigarette smoke

10. Snuffbox Saigon — Speakeasy in a Ton That Dam apartment block, mezzanine and balcony

  • Address14 Tôn Thất Đạm, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours14:00 – 02:00
  • TypeSpeakeasy Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.6 · 803 reviews

Snuffbox is at 14 Ton That Dam in Saigon Ward, inside an ageing apartment block shared with cafés and small shops: a genuine hidden bar in the riverside part of District 1, in the same ward as The Enigma Mansion and Kén Skybar. It runs from 2pm to 2am daily and behaves like a café until dusk. Because guests describe the route up in different ways, ask the venue for directions before you go.

The mood is a 1920s speakeasy: mismatched lamps, antique furniture, fresh flowers and a faint scent of lilies. The mezzanine and the balcony hold only a few seats and suit dates, so book them; groups take the main sofa cluster. Jazz plays underneath, with no DJ. There is no published dress code, but neat and tidy fits the room.

Best for: Couples after a mezzanine or balcony seat; anyone who likes to drop in during the quiet afternoon

11. Bebop Saigon — Old French building on Ly Tu Trong: jazz upstairs, DJ downstairs

  • Address38 Lý Tự Trọng, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 00:00
  • TypeJazz Bar & Asian Fusion
  • Google Maps★ 4.9 · 788 reviews

Bebop Saigon is at 38 Ly Tu Trong, Saigon Ward, in a French-era house on a street once called De La Grandière; the Opera House is a short walk, and A Good Bar at number 39 is just across the road. Open since early 2025, it runs from 5pm to midnight, Tuesday to Sunday, and closes on Mondays. The street is busy with venues, so a motorbike is easier to park than a car.

Saturday is the night to pick: upstairs a jazz band plays live from 9pm to 11pm with tickets sold separately, sometimes alongside cabaret or musical-theatre evenings. On other nights jazz and jazz house play downstairs over dinner, and a DJ takes over after 9pm. The Asian-European fusion kitchen is praised for shrimp ravioli, duck breast, salmon with romesco and grilled pork jowl with pickled starfruit. Brick, dark wood and warm lamps give it the feel of a speakeasy jazz club; smart, relaxed clothes fit.

Best for: Birthdays and special dinners that need a polished meal; anyone after live jazz downtown

12. Drinking & Healing — Bare brick and amber light at 25 Ho Tung Mau, Asia No.99 in 2024

  • AddressLầu 2, 25 Hồ Tùng Mậu, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:30 – 02:00
  • TypeCocktail Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 760 reviews

Drinking & Healing sits on the second floor of a French-style building at 25 Ho Tung Mau, Saigon Ward (formerly Nguyen Thai Binh), on the stretch beside the Bitexco tower. The sign is small and the staircase rises straight from the pavement, so ask staff to show you up. Its own website lists 6:30pm to 2am, while Google Maps shows an earlier 5pm opening, so check if you want to arrive early.

The name matches the service: bartenders are called healers, and you can describe your mood and let them pick. The menu draws on ingredients from around Vietnam, split into a Gemination signature list, named after the Da Lat bar it joined in 2026, and a set of classics. Old-school hip-hop, raw brick and amber light set the mood; in 2024 the bar ranked 99th on Asia's 50 Best Bars 51-100. The whole room can be booked for private parties and workshops.

Best for: Guests who like to describe a mood and get a matching glass; small private parties

13. Twilight Sky Bar Sài Gòn — 12th-floor sky bar at La Siesta near Ben Thanh, EDM on Fri and Sat

  • Address180-188 Lý Tự Trọng, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 00:00
  • TypeSky Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 607 reviews

Twilight Sky Bar Saigon occupies level 12 of La Siesta Premium, a hotel at 180-188 Ly Tu Trong (Ben Thanh), on the same street as FEN; you reach it through the hotel lobby. It opens 5pm to midnight every day and belongs to the same group as Lighthouse and Moonlight Sky Bar in Hanoi. The view spans about 270 degrees, down over Ben Thanh Market and the neighbouring park, close enough to follow the traffic below.

The small room mixes glass, metal and wood on black and slate grey, with chill-out music on weeknights. On Friday and Saturday EDM Nights bring a DJ from 9pm to 11pm, and holidays add evenings with dancers, a lucky draw and fireworks. The booking form accepts groups of ten at most, and most guests are international. For sunset, go up as soon as it opens; dress neatly.

Best for: Couples and small groups watching sunset over Ben Thanh; anyone after light weekend EDM

14. Station Sport Bar — Two floors on the Bui Vien walking street: football and rock bands

  • Address135-139 Bùi Viện, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • TypeSports Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.3 · 585 reviews

Station Sport Bar is the only venue on this list right on the Bui Vien walking street: the frontage runs across 135-139 Bui Vien, Ben Thanh Ward, though some sites list just number 135. Google Maps shows it open 24 hours, and it holds about 300 across the ground floor, the upper floor and pavement tables. According to the manager, eight or nine in ten guests are international visitors.

Eighteen screens circle both floors, showing football above all through the K+ channel, so big-match nights get packed; name the game when you reserve. On the ground floor a band plays rock and metal on a small stage, and pool and foosball tables help pass the time before kick-off. The Western and Asian menu includes pizza, pho, sandwiches, tacos and group combos. Wear what you like, but carry ID for a night out on Bui Vien.

Best for: Football fans who need a big screen in the backpacker area; friends into live rock and pool

15. FEN Izakaya — Tokyo-style izakaya on Ly Tu Trong, charcoal skewers, hip-hop to 2am

  • Address240 Lý Tự Trọng, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 02:00
  • TypeIzakaya Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.7 · 574 reviews

The address of FEN Izakaya is 240 Ly Tu Trong (Ben Thanh Ward), a few hundred metres from Ben Thanh Market. From the street you see an old white apartment block with a red box spelling IZAKAYA across the front. It is a fairly new arrival, only a few months old in mid-2025, and it serves from 6pm to 2am every day, which makes it a good late dinner or a last stop for a snack.

Inside is street-style Tokyo: shoji screens, lanterns, ukiyo-e-style art starring Mario or Kamen Rider, light boxes with slogans like NO FEN NO FUN, and high-energy hip-hop. Order izakaya-style, many small plates for the table: grilled beef tongue, yakitori over glowing charcoal, duck karaage with a yuzu dip, udon in XO sauce tossed with crab. There are tables for four to six, a counter facing the grill and a few pavement tables. No dress code is published.

Best for: Friends after a late Japanese dinner with hip-hop on; anyone who needs food until 2am

16. Maiden Cocktail Bar — Bespoke drinks down alley 63/13 Nguyen Huu Cau, Tan Dinh

  • Address63/13 Nguyễn Hữu Cầu, Phường Tân Định, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 02:00
  • TypeSpeakeasy Bar
  • Google Maps★ 5 · 555 reviews

Maiden is the northernmost speakeasy on this list, down alley 63/13 Nguyen Huu Cau near Tan Dinh Market — part of District 1 until mid-2025, now Tan Dinh Ward. No big sign and no obvious house number: look for the red door halfway along the lane. It opens 6pm to 2am every day; parking in the alley is tight, so ask when the bar calls to confirm.

There is no printed menu. The bartender asks what flavours you like, mixes something just for you while talking shop, and remakes any glass that is not quite right; most ingredients are made in house, served with small snacks. Seating is one counter and two little tables, and the restroom is thoughtfully kitted out for women. Go early or midweek for a counter seat; groups of more than four must book.

Best for: Solo guests and couples who want a made-to-measure glass and a long chat at the counter

17. Stir Saigon — First-floor speakeasy on Le Thanh Ton, soft jazz, regional menu

  • AddressLầu 1, 136 Lê Thánh Tôn, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:30 – 01:30
  • TypeSpeakeasy Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.7 · 465 reviews

Stir Saigon is the hidden bar that pairs most easily with the Ben Thanh Market cluster: first floor, 136 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Thanh Ward, the same ward as District K and Astrix. There is no shopfront; from the alley facing the market you turn left, head upstairs and turn right. Hours are 4:30pm to 1:30am every day. From 2024 to 2026 it appeared in the 51-100 band of Asia's 50 Best Bars every year, most recently at No.84.

The small room is full of antiques that mix Vietnamese, French and Chinese styles and evoke Saigon in the 1960s, with a balcony off to one side. Gentle jazz runs underneath. The main menu is printed with a map of Vietnam, each drink standing for a region, next to reworked classics. Seats are few, mostly lounge chairs and the counter, so Friday and Saturday fill up. En Primeur Club suggests smart casual.

Best for: Anyone curious to taste Vietnam region by region in a calm room near Ben Thanh Market

18. The Arth — Art Deco lounge with a skylight on Nguyen Cong Tru, hip-hop late

  • Address222 Nguyễn Công Trứ, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 02:00
  • TypeBar & Lounge
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 452 reviews

The Arth is one flight up at 222 Nguyen Cong Tru, Ben Thanh Ward (formerly Nguyen Thai Binh), on the same road as Fetti but further along. The stairs are dark and narrow. It opens from 5pm to 2am daily, but the kitchen and bar stop taking orders roughly an hour before closing, so late arrivals should be there before 1am.

The room is modest, about 150 guests, in Art Deco style with classic European touches: an ornate bar, a skylight in the middle and low amber light. The night has two phases: one listing describes jazz from about 5pm to 9:30pm before the DJ starts, and the bar now leans firmly into hip-hop, renamed Arth – Hiphop bar on Google Maps, crowded and loud late on Fridays. Sofa tables are allocated depending on how you order, so say what kind of table you want when booking. Dress elegantly.

Best for: Hip-hop fans who want a late night in an Art Deco room; early arrivals who prefer softer music

19. Yunka Saigon — Nikkei cuisine on Dong Khoi, a DJ upstairs every night

  • Address80 Đồng Khởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 01:00 · Thu, Fri, Sat until 02:00
  • TypeNikkei Dining & Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.7 · 419 reviews

Dinner first, then stay for the party: that is both the motto and the way Yunka works, in its building on Dong Khoi Street (number 80, Saigon Ward), whose windows look over Dong Khoi and Dong Du. It opens 5pm to 1am from Sunday to Wednesday and 5pm to 2am from Thursday to Saturday. The Nikkei kitchen, Peruvian food meeting Japanese, is run by chef Pierre López.

Eat on the ground floor, with Japanese-style ceviche, nigiri, maki, grilled corn and spicy fried chicken, then head upstairs when the resident or guest DJ starts. Green tiles, plum lampshades and yellow stools set the look; it is loud but conversation still works, which suits birthdays and dates. Ladies' Night has been listed on Wednesdays, though another source says Tuesdays, so check first. Smart casual is about right.

Best for: Couples and friends near Dong Khoi after a Peru–Japan dinner and a DJ one floor up

20. Rex Rooftop Garden Bar — Rex Hotel rooftop on Nguyen Hue, facing City Hall and the Opera House

  • AddressTầng 5, Rex Hotel Saigon, 141 Nguyễn Huệ, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • TypeRooftop Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4 · 384 reviews

The Rex Hotel's bar takes up the roof of the building at 141 Nguyen Hue, Saigon Ward, which guidebooks place on the 5th floor. It is not tall, but the tables look straight down the Nguyen Hue boulevard to the City Hall building and the Opera House. The hotel publishes no separate hours for the bar, and Wanderlog has it serving until 1am, so check the closing time before a late visit.

The bar made it into the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die and is tied to the Five O'Clock Follies of the 1960s, when foreign correspondents gathered here after military press briefings. Evenings bring a covers band with plenty of volume; for conversation, request a seat at the far end from the musicians. Arrive around 5pm to watch the square light up. Dress neatly.

Best for: Visitors who want Nguyen Hue and the Opera House from a historic hotel roof, with a band

21. SolLuna Rooftop Bar — Pool and tropical plants on the 10th floor of Icon Saigon, chill music

  • Address65-67 Hai Bà Trưng, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours07:00 – 23:00
  • TypeRooftop Pool Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 365 reviews

On the 10th floor of the Icon Saigon hotel (65-67 on Hai Ba Trung Street, in the middle of the Dong Khoi area), SolLuna sets its bar and sofas beside the pool. Its own page lists 7am to 11pm all week, while Google Maps shows an earlier 10:30pm close. What sets it apart from the other rooftops is the water: a place to unwind by day and to watch District 1 light up at dusk.

Tropical plants circle the blue water, with lounge sofas and bar stools by the pool and the downtown skyline behind. No DJ and no dance floor; the music is chilled, filed under house and tech house by one listing. Food is light: edamame, wedge fries, chicken wings and fried squid. Its Facebook page is restricted to over-18s; on rainy days ask first, since the pool area has no roof.

Best for: Couples or solo guests after a poolside sunset up high, with chilled music

22. The Enigma Mansion — French villa on Ton Duc Thang, Tatler's Vietnam Bar of the Year 2025

  • Address5H Tôn Đức Thắng, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 01:30
  • TypeSpeakeasy Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 353 reviews

The Enigma Mansion is at 5H Ton Duc Thang in Saigon Ward, close to where Ba Son Bridge meets the bank, on the same riverside road as Kén Skybar. It is tucked into a villa built in the French period, now well over a century old, and per Google Maps opens 4pm to 1:30am daily. In the 51-100 band of Asia's 50 Best Bars it jumped from 93rd in 2025 to 55th in 2026, the biggest climb on the list.

After a spell themed as a futuristic cosmic library and a short closure, it returned with a classic look: small private rooms, booths upstairs, antique mirrors, desk lamps and a phoenix sculpture standing for that rebirth. The jazz is kept low; the downstairs counter suits two people, while a group of six fits a table upstairs. Reserve ahead for weekend evenings.

Best for: Anyone who wants to try a bar ranked in Asia; small groups after a private room in an old villa

23. M Bar Majestic Saigon — 8th-floor rooftop at the century-old Majestic, live band nightly

  • AddressTầng 8, Hotel Majestic Saigon, 1 Đồng Khởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours15:00 – 00:00
  • TypeRooftop Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 308 reviews

Ride up to the 8th floor of the New Wing at the Majestic and you reach M Bar; the hotel stands at 1 Dong Khoi Street, Saigon Ward, opened in 1925 and looks straight onto the waterfront. It is open 3pm to midnight with no day off. The same hotel runs Breeze Sky Bar on the 5th floor, which is a different venue, so specify M Bar on floor 8 when you book.

The outdoor seats look over Bach Dang wharf, the riverside road and the downtown streets; come between 5pm and 6pm for the sunset. From 8pm a band of local musicians plays every night. This is a hotel lounge for listening and talking, with no DJ and no dance floor. The bar was refurbished in 2018, and for a Vietnamese dinner first there is Saigon House on the 7th floor.

Best for: Couples and older guests who want a river sunset and live music in a heritage hotel

24. The Mechanic — Old garage on Le Lai's 2nd floor facing 23/9 Park, open from 8:30am

  • AddressLầu 2, 176 Lê Lai, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours08:30 – 01:00 (Fri, Sat until 02:00)
  • TypeEatery Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 298 reviews

The Mechanic is two flights up at 176 Le Lai in Ben Thanh Ward, right opposite 23/9 Park; Bui Vien and Ben Thanh Market are both walkable. Its website lists 8:30am to 1am, or 2am on Friday and Saturday, which makes it the earliest opener here outside the hotels. Le Lai is a busy road, so watch for the staircase up.

By day it is a café serving office lunches; from early evening it becomes a small bar for about 30, with jazz and blues. The interior is a repair shop: exposed ceiling pipes, grey walls, a rusty tin bar, a dartboard and a balcony over Le Lai. The fusion kitchen does snail burgers, bamboo-charcoal burgers and brown-rice poke bowls. Come early for the balcony; no dress code.

Best for: Office workers around Ben Thanh and small groups after a calm garage bar with coffee and drinks

25. A Good Bar — Red neon and booths upstairs on the Ly Tu Trong – Hai Ba Trung corner

  • Address39 Lý Tự Trọng, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:30 – 01:00
  • TypeSocial Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 285 reviews

A few minutes' walk from Notre-Dame Cathedral along Hai Ba Trung brings you to A Good Bar, an upstairs room at number 39 Ly Tu Trong whose windows look over the junction. The Japanese quarter on Le Thanh Ton and Dong Khoi Street are close enough to walk. Going by its Instagram, it starts at 5:30pm daily and winds down around 1am; other listings differ, so check the closing time if you plan a late one.

Think of it as the opening act: early in the evening the music is lounge-soft, jazz and R&B for after-work meet-ups; later the DJ moves into house and techno, the disco ball turns and it feels like a small party before the club. Red neon curves, a lettered neon sign, booth seating and a photobooth corner are what people photograph. There are regular and VIP tables; it is a small room, so groups should give numbers in advance. Men should wear closed shoes, not flip-flops.

Best for: Groups warming up before a club around Dong Khoi; anyone after a red-neon photo

26. Zion Sky Lounge & Dining — 14th-floor rooftop on Ham Nghi, kitchen open from 4pm

Zion Sky Lounge & Dining — Sky Lounge & Dining District 1
  • AddressTầng 14, 87A Hàm Nghi, Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình, Quận 1, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 03:00
  • TypeSky Lounge & Dining
  • Google Maps★ 4.7 · 224 reviews

Zion Sky Lounge & Dining sits 14 floors up at 87A Ham Nghi in Nguyen Thai Binh Ward. The avenue runs from Ben Thanh Market down to the river, so Ben Thanh metro station and the Nguyen Hue walking street are both a few minutes away on foot — one of the easiest addresses on this list for anyone staying downtown. Walk into the lobby, take the lift to 14 and tell reception you are heading to Zion. Hours are 4pm to 3am daily, and the restaurant side runs from the afternoon, so you can come up early for dinner.

Dusk around 6pm is when the skyline looks best and when the tables along the railing go first. The music moves from Top 40 into House, Hip-hop, EDM and Techno, with live vocalists and a guest DJ each week; Tuesday is Art Attack night with fire dancing and body painting. There are five table tiers, and note that Premium Sofa applies Monday to Thursday and Sunday while VIP Sofa is for Friday and Saturday. Dress code is smart elegant.

Best for: Dates, client dinners and groups who want dinner with a view, then music

27. Madam Kew Saigon — Old-Shanghai speakeasy on the 2nd floor above Quince, Ky Con Street

  • AddressTầng 2, 37Bis Ký Con, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:30 – 00:00
  • TypeSpeakeasy Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.6 · 188 reviews

Madam Kew Saigon is another District 1 speakeasy, upstairs at 37Bis Ky Con in Ben Thanh Ward (formerly Nguyen Thai Binh), directly above Quince, a wood-fire restaurant. Climb a dim staircase and you reach an old wooden cabinet beneath the bar's nameplate: that is the way in. It opens 5:30pm to midnight every day and first opened at the end of 2020.

The room recreates nights in 1930s and 1940s Shanghai and Saigon in a Chinoiserie style: red lanterns across the ceiling, orange-red light, a rotary phone, an old abacus, patterned chairs and staff in vintage dress. A long, narrow balcony has mirrors at each end but no air conditioning. Signature drinks use Southeast Asian herbs and spices, and the bartenders will happily adjust a glass that misses the mark. It is not a dancing venue; if you want a proper meal first, reserve at Quince on the ground floor, then climb the stairs. Smart casual, no beachwear.

Best for: Couples and small groups after an old-Shanghai date night following dinner at Quince

28. District K — Neon street indoors by Ben Thanh Market, with a games zone

District K — Gastrobar × Club District 1
  • Address30 Thủ Khoa Huân, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 02:00
  • TypeGastrobar × Club
  • Google Maps★ 4.5 · 186 reviews

District K is at 30 Thu Khoa Huan in Ben Thanh Ward, the street that runs beside Ben Thanh Market and links Le Thanh Ton with Ly Tu Trong. Give any driver the market as a landmark; Ben Thanh metro station is about a three-minute walk, and the car parks around the market make this easier for cars than the alleys near Pham Ngu Lao. Doors open 4pm to 2am, with the busiest stretch from 8pm to midnight. Inside is a whole street built under one roof: two rows of mock shopfronts stacked with Hong Kong- and Tokyo-style neon, a vintage Cadillac, palms and a mascot hanging from the ceiling.

What separates District K from an ordinary bar is the games zone — billiards, arcade machines, a ball-toss table and foosball — so a group has something to do between sets. A DJ plays every night, with dance shows, fire acts and street circus in between. The gastrobar kitchen does skewers, snails, hand-made pizza and German sausage, so arriving in the afternoon to eat works fine. Capacity reaches 400, with four tiers from Bar Counter up to VIP Private for 8–15; dress smart casual, no flip-flops.

Best for: Big friend groups and travellers who want food, games and a show in one stop

29. Saigon Saigon Rooftop Bar — Historic rooftop on the Caravelle with a live band from 8pm

  • AddressTầng 9, Caravelle Saigon, 19-23 Công trường Lam Sơn, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 01:00
  • TypeRooftop Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4 · 171 reviews

Saigon Saigon Rooftop Bar is the bar on top of the Caravelle hotel, 19-23 Lam Son Square in Saigon Ward, looking down on the square and the Opera House at the head of Dong Khoi. It belongs to the riverside cluster along with Kén Skybar and The Wann. Most listings put it on floor 9 and the hotel's own page on floor 10, so ask for the bar by name in the lobby. It is open daily from 4pm to 1am and reopened in late September 2026 after a makeover.

Along with M Bar at the Majestic, it is one of the few District 1 rooftops with a band every night, playing Monday to Saturday from 8pm until 10:30pm and stopping at 10pm on Sunday. Before the music, from 5:45pm to 7:45pm, staff wheel a trolley to the tables while a DJ plays in the background. The refit blends Art Deco with old Saigon, and archive photos recall the years when foreign correspondents gathered up here. There is no air conditioning, so wear something light but tidy.

Best for: Visitors who want live music by the Opera House, and anyone curious about old Saigon

30. Fetti Social Club — 100-seat social club, confetti rain, weekly Ladies Night

Fetti Social Club — Social Club District 1
  • Address20 Nguyễn Công Trứ, Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình, Quận 1, TP.HCM
  • Hours20:00 – 02:00
  • TypeSocial Club
  • Google Maps★ 4.5 · 167 reviews

Fetti Social Club is at 20 Nguyen Cong Tru in Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, among the financial office blocks behind Ben Thanh Market — busy by day, quiet and easy for drop-offs by night. It is about a seven-minute walk from the market and a five-minute ride from the Nguyen Hue walking street, and it shares a ward with Zion on Ham Nghi, so the two pair well in one evening. Doors open 8pm to 2am, timed for arriving straight after dinner.

The room holds only around 100 people, dressed in deep crimson and ivory cream and lit more like a fashion shoot than a neon club. The music runs from pop-house and disco-funk to festival anthems; the signature is confetti falling without warning, heaviest on Fettival Sunday, alongside Ladies Night and seasonal guest DJs from Southeast Asia. Four tiers run from Sofa Lounge for 2–4 to VIP Sofa for larger groups, and with so few tables weekends need a reservation. Guests must be 18 or over; dress smart casual.

Best for: Groups of 4–8 who want festival energy but still want to hear each other

31. Sạc Station — Open-air neon yard on Tran Hung Dao, minutes from Bui Vien

Sạc Station — Station Lounge District 1
  • Address6 Trần Hưng Đạo, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 02:00
  • TypeStation Lounge
  • Google Maps★ 4.5 · 156 reviews

Sạc Station is at 6 Tran Hung Dao in Ben Thanh Ward, right where the avenue begins on the District 1 side, a few minutes on foot from Bui Vien, 23/9 Park and Ben Thanh Market. The wide frontage makes stopping a car far easier than in the lanes around the backpacker street. Hours are 4pm to 2am every day, holidays included. This is not a room but an open courtyard: scaffolding steel stacked several levels high, a façade covered in neon signs, real trees wrapped in string lights growing out of the floor, and timber tables painted red and green packed tightly together.

Afternoons are for eating — grilled seafood, clay-pot dishes and soups — and once it is dark the live music and DJs take over, with hardly a free table on weekend nights. Because the ceiling is the actual sky, ask about seating if rain is forecast. Four tiers: Standard Table, Group Table on a long table, Stage-side Table and a VIP Area for 8–15 guests; the venue decorates birthday tables when told in advance.

Best for: Groups who like sitting outdoors, eating early and hearing live music near Bui Vien

32. Song Bar Hilton Saigon — 40th-floor sky bar at the Hilton, glass walls, three jazz nights

  • AddressTầng 40, Hilton Saigon, 11 Công trường Mê Linh, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours14:00 – 00:00
  • TypeSky Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.6 · 141 reviews

Song Bar takes the 40th and top floor of the Hilton Saigon tower; the hotel is at 11 Me Linh Square in Saigon Ward, by the river, which makes this the highest venue on the list. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps the room, laying out the towers and the bend of the river below. According to its Instagram it welcomes guests from 2pm to midnight every day, and afternoons bring a seasonal tea service.

Jazz Night falls on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, starting at 9pm, with jazz, live vocals and requests from the floor. The interior pairs warm wood panelling, velvet chairs and sculptural lamps with Asian touches. Early evening is usually quiet, so a window seat at sunset is easy to get. For dinner, Residence Eleven is one floor down on 39. Dress neatly and skip beachwear.

Best for: Couples and small groups who want the highest seat in District 1 with jazz and a river view

33. B40 — Indoor night market with Lo To game nights, open until 4am

B40 — Street Food & Fun District 1
  • Address12-14 Trần Hưng Đạo, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 04:00
  • TypeStreet Food & Fun
  • Google Maps★ 4.4 · 132 reviews

B40 is at 12-14 Tran Hung Dao in Ben Thanh Ward, a few doors along from Sạc Station on the same stretch, so the two make an easy pair. Ben Thanh Market is about three minutes by car, the Nguyen Hue walking street roughly ten minutes on foot, and Bui Vien is close by. There is no private car park, but the frontage is wide and street parking is plentiful nearby. Hours are 6pm to 4am daily — the latest closing time of any venue here with fixed hours.

The mood is a Vietnamese night market brought indoors: a large red LED sign, strings of lights, tables spilling onto the pavement and street dishes plated with care, such as beef salad under a sesame cracker or cheese-grilled prawns. DJs play EDM, house and hip-hop at a level you can talk over, and between sets come hosted Lo To game nights and Bau Cua rounds the whole room joins, on a weekly-changing schedule. Dress is casual; guests must be 18 or over, and party tables need a day's notice.

The Wann stands at 74-76 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Saigon Ward, on a main central avenue every driver knows, roughly a five-minute drive from Ben Thanh Market, and you can walk over from the Nguyen Hue walking street. The venue has parking for cars and motorbikes, takes cards and issues VAT invoices. Hours are 6pm to 2am; the roads are busy at dinner time and much clearer after nine. Note that 51 Bui Thi Xuan is an old address still floating around online.

As FOOD · DRINK · MUSIC promises, The Wann works as a full restaurant first — an Asian–European fusion list of 100-plus dishes with a vegetarian section — then DJs play EDM, House, Hip-hop and Techno nightly. LEDs light the dance floor from beneath its glass, and a panoramic LED wall sits behind the stage. Birthday tables are staged — gold balloon letters, cold sparklers, LED greetings — with free decoration for guests who book ahead. Four tiers run from ground-floor tables to a VIP Private Room for 8–15.

Kén Skybar takes the 26th floor of the Riverfront Financial Centre tower at 3A-3B Ton Duc Thang in Saigon Ward — the avenue along the river, beside the Ba Son area and Bach Dang wharf and a few minutes from the Nguyen Hue walking street. The tower has a basement car park; enter the lobby and take the lift to 26, and at weekends arrive about half an hour before sunset because the lifts get crowded. Hours are 5pm to 2am from Tuesday to Sunday, closed Monday.

This is a truly open terrace, with the night sky overhead and the bend of the river in front of you. The palette is deep plum with a cream butterfly mark from the Metamorphosis theme, and a curved steel canopy like cocoon threads arches over the bar. Tuesday is Ladies Night; Friday and Saturday carry the Weekend Line Up with Afro House, Deep House, R&B and V-pop remixes. 36. Jackalope Bar — Modern Rustic wooden bar on Pho Duc Chinh, drinks to match your mood

  • Address56 Phó Đức Chính, Phường Bến Thành, TP.HCM
  • Hours16:00 – 00:30
  • TypeCocktail Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.9 · 118 reviews

Jackalope is at 56 Pho Duc Chinh, Ben Thanh Ward (formerly Nguyen Thai Binh); the bar is small but has two floors. Google Maps gives 4pm to 12:30am daily, while some older sources say 5pm to 1am, so check if you plan to arrive near closing.

Vietcetera calls the style Modern Rustic: rough wood, amber light, leather seats, a neon sign and a long counter for watching the bartenders. A new menu arrives each month and drinks are made to taste; solo travellers praise how open the staff are. The music is quiet with no dance floor; upstairs is more secluded, though one guest found the music up there a little loud. In 2023 there was live music on Saturdays, a schedule not confirmed since.

Best for: Solo guests who enjoy chatting at the counter; small groups after drinks to match their mood

37. Rooftop Grand Lounge — 20th-floor lounge at Hotel Grand Saigon, live music Thu to Sun

  • AddressTầng 20, Hotel Grand Saigon, 8 Đồng Khởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours06:00 – 00:00
  • TypeRooftop Lounge
  • Google Maps★ 4.3 · 104 reviews

Rooftop Grand Lounge is on the 20th floor of Hotel Grand Saigon, 8 Dong Khoi Street, Saigon Ward, at the river end of the street; the hotel has more than 95 years of history. Service runs non-stop from 6am to midnight (Wanderlog says 11:30pm): meals in the morning and at lunch, afternoon tea from 1pm to 6pm, then dinner and lounge hours.

There are covered tables and open-air ones, looking down on the Dong Khoi quarter and the river. Live music plays on Thursday to Sunday evenings between 8pm and 10pm, gentle enough for dinner and conversation rather than a party. The menu covers European, Asian and Vietnamese dishes, and egg coffee is the item reviewers mention most. For sunset plus music, book an outdoor table and arrive before 6pm.

Best for: Families, older guests and couples who want dinner and soft live music over the river

38. Angels' Share — 1st floor in alley 178 Pasteur, opposite House of Merlin, jazz nights

  • AddressLầu 1, hẻm 178 Pasteur, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours18:00 – 02:00
  • TypeHidden Bar & Jazz
  • Google Maps★ 4.8 · 99 reviews

In the same alley, 178 Pasteur in Saigon Ward, Angels' Share is one floor up opposite House of Merlin, which makes the two an easy pair. The Rabbit Hole team runs it, and since May 2026 it has also served Rabbit Hole's drinks list while the sister bar takes a break. It opens 6pm to 2am every day; come early for a counter seat.

The room is small and warm, with a stepped ceiling, wooden shelves of rare bottles and a version of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks behind the bar. Bartenders take their time advising, sometimes letting you smell a bottle before pouring. Live jazz runs 8:30pm to 11:30pm a few nights a week, sometimes a pianist who sings; other nights soft jazz plays in the background. Groups under six can take one of two private nooks, and weekends fill up. Smart casual; cars can park in the lot opposite the alley.

Best for: Couples on a date and anyone who wants live jazz and careful advice at the counter

39. Astrix Saigon — Lounge club on floor 14 of an office tower, techno and house

  • TypeLounge Club
  • Google Maps★ 4.6 · 96 reviews

Astrix Saigon occupies the 14th floor of the HDTC tower, 36 Bui Thi Xuan, Ben Thanh Ward. There is no sign on the street: you walk into an office lobby, ask reception and ride the lift up, which gives it a hidden-bar feel, although it is a club rather than a speakeasy like Stir, The Enigma Mansion or Snuffbox. Bui Thi Xuan runs from Cach Mang Thang Tam over to the Pham Ngu Lao area; a car from Ben Thanh Market takes about seven minutes, and the tower has a basement car park. Doors open 9pm to 3am daily — the latest start on this list — and there is no queue on the pavement.

A large disc hangs mid-ceiling with LED bars radiating like spokes, throwing red-orange light onto a DJ booth set at crowd level; polished metal on the ceiling and walls multiplies the light, and the rig is programmed to hit every beat. The music runs from Melodic Techno into energetic House. Four tiers go from Bar Counter to VIP for 8–15; book at least 30 minutes ahead, and a table may be released 15 minutes after the booked time if the venue cannot reach you. Dress smart casual or better.

  • Hours18:00 – 02:00
  • TypeNhà hàng & Giải trí nhiệt đới

Palmora Saigon is at 18 Nguyen Cu Trinh in Ben Thanh Ward, a street that runs between Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Trai; the Pham Ngu Lao area is a few minutes' drive and Nguyen Hue walking street roughly ten. Homes and restaurants share the street, so evenings are calmer and stopping is easier than around Ben Thanh Market, and Tran Hung Dao makes it convenient from Districts 4 and 5. Hours are 6pm to 2am daily.

Inside is a real tropical oasis: coconut and fan palms growing up through the dining area, a latticed dome of glowing squares, warm terracotta tones, and a wide LED screen across the far wall above a stage with nightly music and dance performances. The kitchen does elevated Vietnamese cooking with grilled dishes and a seafood platter for groups; the signature drinks lean on young coconut, passion fruit, mango and pink guava. Three tiers — Standard, Premium near the stage and VIP — and weekends need booking 24 hours ahead.

41. Hai Bar Sheraton Saigon — 23rd-floor Sheraton rooftop opened June 2026, Opera House views

  • AddressTầng 23, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera, 88 Đồng Khởi, Phường Sài Gòn, TP.HCM
  • Hours17:00 – 01:00
  • TypeRooftop Bar
  • Google Maps★ 4.9 · 29 reviews

Hai Bar is the newest name on the list, launched on 26 June 2026 on the 23rd floor of the Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera, 88 Dong Khoi Street, Saigon Ward, steps from the Opera House. According to the hotel, no rooftop on Dong Khoi sits higher. The Marriott page gives daily hours of 5pm to 1am, and closing time can shift with the season.

The counter opens to the outdoors and the breeze: the Opera House in front, and further off the twin spires of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the river and Ba Son Bridge. The name reads as hai ba, Vietnamese for twenty-three, the floor number, and also sounds like high bar. The list of 23 signature drinks borrows a flavour from each corner of Vietnam. There is evening music but no published DJ schedule and no dance floor. Dress smart casual, no flip-flops, and arrive at 5pm for the best seats.

Best for: Anyone after a brand-new rooftop with the Opera House and cathedral at sunset

How to choose

Pick a venue by street cluster

The riverside side of Saigon Ward is now the densest cluster. The Dong Khoi – Nguyen Hue grid alone holds Layla (2nd floor, 63 Dong Du), Yunka (number 80 on Dong Khoi Street), The Gangs Central (87 Nguyen Hue), Malt (46-48 Mac Thi Buoi) and Firkin (1st floor, number 20 on the same street), Drinking & Healing (2nd floor, 25 Ho Tung Mau), House of Merlin (alley 178/1 Pasteur), Angels' Share (1st floor, alley 178 Pasteur), A Good Bar (39 Ly Tu Trong), Bebop (38 Ly Tu Trong) and SolLuna (10th floor, 65-67 Hai Ba Trung), plus three hotel bars on Dong Khoi Street: M Bar on the Majestic's 8th floor, Rooftop Grand Lounge on the 20th floor of Hotel Grand Saigon and Hai Bar on the Sheraton's 23rd. Saigon Saigon on the Caravelle roof and the Rex rooftop on Nguyen Hue both face the Opera House; Song Bar crowns the Hilton on Me Linh Square; Ton Duc Thang has ROS on Bach Dang wharf, Kén Skybar and The Enigma Mansion; Snuffbox hides at 14 Ton That Dam; The Wann is on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia. On the Ham Nghi – Nguyen Thai Binh blocks you have Zion on the 14th floor of 87A Ham Nghi, Fetti at 20 Nguyen Cong Tru, The Arth at number 222 on the same road, Madam Kew upstairs at 37Bis Ky Con and Jackalope at 56 Pho Duc Chinh. Around the market sit District K at 30 Thu Khoa Huan, Stir one floor up at 136 Le Thanh Ton, FEN at 240 Ly Tu Trong, Twilight on the 12th floor at 180-188 on the same street and Astrix on the HDTC tower's 14th floor at 36 Bui Thi Xuan, with Chill Skybar a little further out on AB Tower, 76A Le Lai. Towards Pham Ngu Lao, the start of Tran Hung Dao lines up Sạc Station at number 6, B40 at 12-14 and Palmora on neighbouring Nguyen Cu Trinh, plus Banana Mama on the 10th floor of 102 Cong Quynh, Station Sport Bar at 135-139 Bui Vien, Thi Bar at 224 De Tham and The Mechanic on the second floor of 176 Le Lai. Maiden sits apart, in alley 63/13 Nguyen Huu Cau, Tan Dinh. Pair two venues from one cluster and skip the car.

Pick by the kind of night: talking, a band or dancing

For sitting and talking: Kén Skybar, Zion, Song Bar, Rooftop Grand Lounge and SolLuna up high; the five speakeasies, Stir, The Enigma Mansion, Snuffbox, Madam Kew and Maiden, plus the hidden bar Angels' Share; the made-to-taste counters at Firkin, Jackalope, House of Merlin and Drinking & Healing; the garage-style Mechanic; Malt and its shuffleboard table; Fetti with sofas around a small room; Palmora, The Wann and ROS for a long dinner; Sạc Station for an afternoon outdoors. For a band: Saigon Saigon until 10:30pm, M Bar every night from 8pm, the Rex with a covers band in the evening, Grand Lounge from Thursday to Sunday between 8pm and 10pm, Song Bar's Jazz Night on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Bebop's live jazz on Saturdays, live jazz some nights at House of Merlin and Angels' Share, Thi Bar's band from around 10pm with occasional drag shows, and rock bands on Station Sport Bar's ground floor. For dancing: Chill Skybar with DJs and dancers on the 26th floor, Astrix with melodic techno and house around a floor-level booth, District K with nightly DJs, fire shows and the games zone, The Gangs Central once people start dancing between tables, The Arth with late hip-hop, Yunka with a DJ upstairs every night, Twilight with EDM on Friday and Saturday, B40 with EDM between Lo To rounds. The Wann, Zion, Banana Mama, A Good Bar and Layla cover both phases — gentle early, louder towards midnight — so they suit a group that cannot agree. For football on a big screen: Station Sport Bar.

When to arrive

First to open is Rooftop Grand Lounge (6am), then the SolLuna pool bar (7am), The Mechanic with coffee from 8:30am and ROS from 11am; Snuffbox and Song Bar open at 2pm, and on Sunday Layla opens at 1pm; M Bar and Malt at 3pm; Layla on other days, Jackalope, Zion, District K, Sạc Station, Banana Mama, Saigon Saigon and Enigma at 4pm; Stir half an hour later; Kén, Hai Bar, Twilight, Yunka, Bebop, The Gangs Central and The Arth at 5pm; Chill Skybar, A Good Bar and Madam Kew at 5:30pm; The Wann, B40, Palmora, House of Merlin, Angels' Share, Firkin, FEN and Maiden at 6pm; Drinking & Healing at 6:30pm; Thi Bar at 7pm; Fetti at 8pm; Astrix at 9pm. For the rooftops, time it for sunset: Zion is at its best around 6pm, M Bar between 5pm and 6pm, at Kén go up half an hour before the sun sets because the weekend lifts are slow, and the best seats at Hai Bar and Twilight go right at opening. For closing, B40 runs to 4am, Zion and Astrix to 3am, Banana Mama to 3am on Friday and Saturday; SolLuna stops at 11pm and ROS at 11:30pm; M Bar, Song Bar, Grand Lounge, Twilight, Bebop, The Gangs Central, Malt and Madam Kew at midnight; Jackalope at 12:30am; Saigon Saigon, Hai Bar, House of Merlin, Firkin, A Good Bar, Layla, Yunka and The Mechanic at 1am (Layla and The Mechanic run to 2am on Friday and Saturday, Yunka from Thursday to Saturday); Chill, Stir and Enigma at 1:30am; and everyone else, FEN, The Arth, Maiden, Angels' Share, Drinking & Healing and Thi Bar (1:30am on Monday and Wednesday) included, at 2am. Dress, age and booking

Only guests aged 18 and over can book through Nightclub.com.vn, so carry ID. Zion asks for smart elegant and The Arth is listed as elegant; District K, Fetti, Kén, Palmora, Banana Mama, Hai Bar, The Gangs Central, Madam Kew, Yunka and Angels' Share for smart casual, with Hai Bar ruling out beachwear and flip-flops and Madam Kew also asking guests to skip beachwear; Astrix for smart casual or better; Chill Skybar stops shorts, flip-flops and tank tops at the door, and A Good Bar turns away men in flip-flops. The hotel bars at the Majestic, Grand, Hilton, Rex, Caravelle and La Siesta, and the riverside ROS, publish no rules of their own, but dress neatly; at SolLuna, relaxed poolside clothes are fine by day and something neater suits the evening. En Primeur Club recommends smart casual for Stir, The Enigma Mansion and Drinking & Healing; Firkin, Jackalope, Bebop and House of Merlin suit smart, relaxed clothes; B40, The Mechanic, Thi Bar and Station Sport Bar have no dress code, and Layla, Malt, Maiden and FEN publish none either. When you book, give the headcount and the occasion: The Wann decorates birthdays free for guests who book ahead, B40 needs a day's notice for party tables, Palmora wants 24 hours for weekends, ROS needs a day or two for set menus, Astrix holds a table only 15 minutes past the booked time, at The Arth say whether you want a sofa or the counter, at Station name the match you want to watch, and at the Majestic write M Bar floor 8 so you are not sent to the 5th-floor bar.

Frequently asked questions

Which District 1 bar has the best view?

Song Bar for height: the 40th floor of the Hilton, behind floor-to-ceiling glass facing the river. Kén Skybar for the river under an open sky, on the 26th floor of the Riverfront tower. Chill Skybar for the streets in every direction, from the same height on Le Lai. Twilight, 12 floors up at La Siesta, looks down on Ben Thanh Market. Zion Sky Lounge & Dining gives the skyline from a dinner table, 14 floors up on Ham Nghi. For old Saigon, Saigon Saigon on the Caravelle roof and the Rex rooftop both look towards the Opera House, and Hai Bar on the Sheraton's 23rd floor adds the cathedral spires. Astrix Saigon on the 14th floor of the HDTC building has a city view too, though it is an indoor lounge club. If a striking interior matters more than a view, try House of Merlin's steampunk workshop, Madam Kew's red lanterns, The Arth's Art Deco skylight, FEN's Tokyo street look, The Mechanic's old garage or Bebop's French-era house.

What time do bars in District 1 close?

The first to close are SolLuna at 11pm and ROS at 11:30pm. At midnight come the three hotel bars M Bar, Song Bar and Rooftop Grand Lounge, together with Twilight, Bebop, The Gangs Central, Malt and Madam Kew; Jackalope closes at 12:30am. Saigon Saigon, Hai Bar, House of Merlin, Firkin and A Good Bar stop at 1am, as do Layla, Yunka and The Mechanic on weeknights; Chill Skybar, Stir and The Enigma Mansion at 1:30am. Closing at 2am are District K, Fetti, Sạc Station, The Wann, Kén Skybar, Palmora, Snuffbox, Drinking & Healing, FEN, The Arth, Maiden, Angels' Share and Thi Bar (1:30am on Monday and Wednesday, closed Tuesday), plus Layla and The Mechanic on Friday and Saturday and Yunka from Thursday to Saturday; Banana Mama also closes at 2am except on Friday and Saturday, when it runs to 3am. Are there rooftop bars in District 1?

Yes, twelve. Top of the pile is Song Bar, 40 floors up in the Hilton, glassed in and facing the river. Next come two 26th-floor terraces: Chill Skybar on AB Tower at 76A Le Lai, with views on all sides, and Kén Skybar, an open-air deck at 3A-3B Ton Duc Thang facing the river. On Dong Khoi Street are Hai Bar on the Sheraton's 23rd floor and Rooftop Grand Lounge on the 20th floor of Hotel Grand Saigon. Zion Sky Lounge & Dining is a 14th-floor sky lounge on Ham Nghi. Twilight Sky Bar takes the 12th floor of La Siesta on Ly Tu Trong, over Ben Thanh Market. Two share the 10th floor: Banana Mama at 102 Cong Quynh and SolLuna, the poolside bar at Icon Saigon on Hai Ba Trung. Lower down are Saigon Saigon on the Caravelle roof, M Bar on the Majestic's 8th floor and the Rex Rooftop Garden Bar. All are inside buildings, so you go up by lift from the lobby.

Where are the hidden bars and speakeasies in District 1?

There are five true speakeasies. Stir is on the first floor of a worn apartment building, number 136 Le Thanh Ton; take the alley facing Ben Thanh Market, turn left and climb the stairs. The Enigma Mansion hides in a French-era villa at 5H Ton Duc Thang. Snuffbox is tucked inside the block at 14 Ton That Dam, with seats on the mezzanine or out on the balcony. Madam Kew occupies the floor above the Quince restaurant at 37Bis Ky Con, reached by a dim staircase. Maiden waits behind a red door in alley 63/13 Nguyen Huu Cau near Tan Dinh Market, with no sign and no printed menu. In 2026 Stir placed 84th and Enigma 55th in the 51-100 band of Asia's 50 Best Bars. A few upstairs bars are just as discreet: Firkin shows only a letter “f” on the street, Drinking & Healing perches on the second floor of an old French-style building on Ho Tung Mau, The Arth is up a dark flight of stairs at 222 Nguyen Cong Tru, The Mechanic is two flights up at 176 Le Lai, and Angels' Share sits one floor up in alley 178 Pasteur, right across from House of Merlin. If you would rather dance, Astrix Saigon (14th floor, HDTC building on Bui Thi Xuan) has no street sign and runs from 9pm to 3am.

What should I wear to a bar in District 1?

Smart casual works almost everywhere: District K, Fetti, Kén, Palmora, The Gangs Central, Madam Kew, Yunka, Angels' Share, Banana Mama (no flip-flops after 7pm) and Hai Bar (no beachwear or flip-flops). Chill Skybar is strict at the door about shorts, flip-flops and tank tops, and A Good Bar also turns away men in flip-flops. Astrix asks for smart casual or better, Zion for smart elegant and The Arth for elegant, so skip flip-flops and gym shorts. The hotel rooftops at the Majestic, Grand, Hilton, Rex and La Siesta, the riverside ROS and the speakeasies publish no rules, but neat clothes fit; SolLuna is more relaxed by the pool in the daytime. B40 is the exception — it keeps a street-stall feel, so tees and shorts are fine — and The Mechanic, Thi Bar and Station Sport Bar are casual too, while Layla, Malt, Maiden and FEN set no rules, so tidy everyday clothes will do. Bookings through Nightclub.com.vn are open to adults (18+) only.
